Not sure what you mean by inconsistent with the other definitions. First 2 letters are abbreviation for engineers + the other word = light changes. Perhaps we need to agree to differ and call it a day !

Sorry chris - I meant that in your link, only the first three mean "fraction" to me. (In particular the last two seem misusages, where fragment and fracture are the appropriate words, though this isn't relevant to my quibble!)
