Seamus, I don't think it's that sort of puzzle - I think it's one of those where each letter has a numeric value, and this first word/clue helps you to get a start.

Seamus, with an alpha puzzle, , there are no letter counts, nor crossers (unlike a crossword)

Supervise - there is a "V" in it in a different position which might help!

I've been trying to think of things that would relate to the 'Show' in the clue, but nothing's sprung to mind. The only other thought I has was 'micromanage' - well, that's what some bosses do!
