(Blast from the past there, rambler, if you are referring to Whitbread. I seem to remember that when they took over a local brewery, they continued to brew the local beer, but remaned it "Trophy", so its taste and quality varied rather a lot!)

I thought it was John Smith's Trophy Bitter until I checked on google - am I going senile?
