Just checking my solving now.
1. Doctor the French total (5) = whole?
2. See in the joint (4) = loin?
3. Windows, say, in corrupt sleeping place.(5) = roost?
4. Entry first to last could lead to scrabble. (5) = tiles?

3. Rot/corrupt, with OS,operating system, inside.
4. Stile/ entry, move first letter to the end/last, so Tiles.

Man - take out the GI, soldier and the CIA/secret service.

Two little points about that...
I'm not sure where the definition is!
Maybe my reasoning would work better if the 'US' went in front of 'soldier'?
