Hi rambler BBM2's is a subtractive anagram of "Stanley Fletcher" - "a telly set" definition Norman.
Some believe/insist if the extraction fodder is not being removed in the order it appears in the total fodder a second anagrind is required, here " new".
I'm on a train and likely to lose signal shortly and haven't looked at imagcq's yet but I'll attempt to get back later if no one else has.

Hi again rambler since you've had no other takers, re imagcq's clue:
You obviously got the definition being "It's Nice lingo", the capital" N" indicating the French city.
I believe but may well be way off the mark that "knack" is being used as a subtraction indicator and if you remove Ag (silver) & O (a plate) you are left with Avec (French for "with").

Thanks, ginge, I'll now invite imagcq to comment to see if you've got it all :)

Brilliant, really brilliant, so many good clues and I have to pick a winner! I can't possibly list all the entries I really rated so please forgive me if I mention just a few. I was really impressed with the subtractive anagrams from peterm, ginge and bbm2, especially Marty's # 7 which (to my shame) succeeded in fooling me, so thanks to the ever-dependable ginge for putting me right. I thought there might have been a few more 'naughty' clues given the subject so thanks to rosalind for her smashing #5.

The winner? I've chosen mattrom's #7:

Not a mad Cher fan? Doors, perhaps? (6)

for its perfect construction and lovely surface - well done, mattrom.

I chose the first prize wnen I selected the word to be clued

and this one to celebrate mattrom's win - hope you like it, mattrom

Well done Mattrom and thanks, rambler for your return in such style.

Mattrom, just to make us envious, what is the weather like down under?
