buggins turn comes up quite readily in Google >wiktionary as a right to a turn in order of duration of service (or waiting) I had thought of gins for traps but could not get that to fit anywhere Many thanks for your help.

Buggins turn also has a separate entry in Chambers. (I should get a commission from Cahmbers for the way I plug them!)

I have to say this has been a real bugger... I've finished it but would appreciate confirmation of 6a "Sticker, say, in reverse (5)" which I think is WEDGE based on WED as the unclued abbreviation and GE being e.g. in reverse. What I don't understand is WEDGE=sticker so would appreciate some help on this...
