Hello, Rosalind! I'm still alive, and so is syzzie- just saw him in Vancouver! Didn't see ixion or jws though (don't think I did anyway). Trying to get back to my schedule after a very hectic couple of months. Thanks for asking.

That's two of you OK. Maybe you assed jws on the golf course and ixion in the bar?
(that's all I know of you guys, sorry!)
I stayed in Vancouver once for a fortnight, great place

It is indeed a great place.

Our syzzie was last sighted sipping cucumber-infused water in an Algerian restaurant on Robson Street (eat your heart out, ginge). I often find it difficult to discern that fine line between decadence and degeneracy, though the hookah in the back seat of his car perhaps should have clued me in. OK, OK, so I was hitting the cucumber too…

I did mean "passed", sorry

Is the cucumber a joke? Sounds horrible and anti-social. My Dad used to grow a variety of cucumber called "Burpless".

No, it wasn't a joke. It was delicious!

I was wondering what "assed" meant. :)

Hi Rosalind,
I’ve been on holiday following the river Rhone from the sea at Marseilles to the source in Switzerland.
I have been to Vancouver in the past and remember going to a Brew Pub (?). At least I think it was called that. My visit to that part of the world was to go on the Rocky Mountaineer. Not to be missed!
What I did miss was the naked bicycle ride (or so somebody told me). I don’t know if this was an annual event or a one off.

That sounds good. hope you had suitable weather.

My trip on Rocky Mountaineer was not a great success. A truck had come off the rails and Rocky sat still for hours and hours. The result was I didn't get to see the Rockies at all, except by moonlight. The crew had to find a scratch meal for us we were so late. I felt I should have been offered another go (because I'm not likely to go to Canada again) but no luck. Didn't see any whales on a whale watching trip, either!
Nevertheless it was a good holiday
