A rather unpleasant subject, I fear, but....I seem to remember Alistair Cooke's body was illegally cut up and his bones stolen for some dodgy medical procedures.
I am not sure if the culprits were caught or not.

That's right- I believe his legs were removed from his body before he was cremated and I think his bones were sold for transplant tissue?
I might not have remembered this very accurately.

It is ringing bells, Elle, or is that my alarm system?
Was his programme the longest running on BBC?

Hi, Albie!
Re your query abut Welling. It IS in Kent, with a DA post code, but is also in the London Borough of Bexley.
This happens a lot with borderline locations.
Beckenham for instance IS also in Kent but is in the London borough of Bromley.
Hope this helps?
