Hello, Elle!
If the pup has had bad vision from birth he won't know any different, surely?
The golf is good. Europe are rallying, thankfully.
I have a bike race to watch tomorrow, too.
The Tour of Lombardy (known as the Race of the Falling Leaves.)
I think Come Dancing is very popular.
Naga from BBC is on it.
Not long with your book now.

Good morning, Rusty!
And a dreich one it is, too, now!
Fortunately the day started out well, and most of our walk was carried out in lovely sunshine ...but we only just made it back to the car before the heavy rain came!
Yesterday evening saw a lot of deaths in my book........Mervin Wendell (what a rogue!) went, as did Potato Brumbaugh ( a tough old boy!) and Jim Lloyd (an admirable character....I was sad to see him go)
There is more yet to come of Tranquilino and his son Triunfador , I think?
We had, of course, made plans for this weekend, expecting elder daughter and the boys to be with us............but their visit has had to be postponed (possibly to next w/e?) because of the pup's illness.
You have a busy day ahead of you with both golf and a bike race to watch!

Good morning, Elle!
Yes, more from the Mexicans!
Jim Lloyd did very well for himself and led a good life.
So did Brumbaugh.
And Charlotte Lloyd.
Not enough minutes in today for me.
My local football team is on TV at lunchtime.
Then the Tour of Lombardy.
The Ryder Cup, and also the replay of the All Ireland at teatime with Dublin and Mayo.
Too much TV viewing!

Hi, Rusty!
Goodness, yes! That is an awful lot to watch!
Maybe you will have to discriminate between the programmes?
Do I mean "discriminate"? That doesn't sound right?
The word I want eludes me.......
All household chores are done...including advanced preparation of meals, because we were being ultra efficient, having expected elder daughter and grandsons for the weekend!
It does, however, mean that I can now indulge myself and sit and read (without feeling guilty that I should be doing something else!)
Raining heavily here.......

Hello, Elle!
And I have to set up FlightAware to track Miss O's trip home later!
Not sure if it is Gatwick or Dublin she is heading for.
The football is finished, though,
I shall mainly watch golf now.
I am not very good at this.
I cheer the Americans I like, as well as Europe!
Lovely day here, but it is not warm, so it's not.

Good afternoon, Rusty!
Who won the football? Did your local team win?
I think with the Ryder Cup, you are probably supposed to view it with the same attitude as you would the Davis Cup?
Support your own "side"?
(I even rooted for Andy Murray in the Davis Cup!)
I am progressing well with "Centennial".....
I loved this bit....
[ A judgement worthy of Solomon was handed down:
"Skull One is undoubtedly that of Pancho Villa, the mature man.
But Skull Two , somewhat smaller, is also his at the age of sixteen".]
!!!!!!
We are awaiting a man who is coming to give us an assessment for pruning our trees.....he is late....I have a strong suspicion he may not turn up!
What time should Miss O arrive home?

Hello, Elle!
My team lost.
My favourite golfers are Americans, so I cheer them too.
I do not remember Villa's skull in the story.
Right now, I do not know which flight my granddaughter is on from Orlando. There are two this evening.
She then flies from Gatwick to Edinburgh.
Her Dad will collect her party from the airport tomorrow.
Did your tree man turn up?

Hi, Rusty!
Re cheering for the Americans.....
You are obviously like me when I was watching Andy Murray play Del Potro in the Davis cup.....
I wanted GB to win so felt obliged to support Mr M, but I like Del Potro , so I cheered for him whenever he won a point!
Yes, the tree man phoned just after I spoke to you....he had got lost!
I gave him fresh directions so he turned up shortly afterwards.
He gave us a reasonable estimate for all the work we wanted done - very favourable compared with the previous one.
He was willing to make a start there and then , so we thought that an excellent idea.
He and his team are out there working away.......they have very nearly finished.
The trees are looking good!
Will you be able to find out from your son which flight Miss O is on, so that you can track the right plane?

Hello, Elle!
Well done with the tree fellers!
They seem to be a good choice!
The Dubs won the All Ireland final.
Poor Mayo!
Great game to watch!
I got a text from a Dublin lady I know, who is on holiday in New York.
She went to a bar in New York to watch the game and said the bar was packed with Mayo supporters.
The Dubs were well outnumbered in the bar.
But she enjoyed the game for all that!
I know what flight Miss O is taking from Orlando, but I see it is "delayed" for some reason.
Then it is Gatwick to Edinburgh, but I have not looked at that yet.
Europe are fighting back at the golf!
It is very enjoyable to watch, and a lovely course.

Hi, Rusty!
Yes, we are very pleased with our tree men!
They have done an excellent job! Our trees now allow far more light to the garden and appear far more "shapely"!
The team tidied up very well, too.
All shipshape!
I am nearing the end of my book!
Dr. Lewis Vernor has reappeared in person now and is playing a part again in the story.
Paul Garrett is a major participant.
His family tree , showing how the characters inter-related , resulting in Garrett himself, is fascinating.
How is Miss O faring?
Has her flight left Orlando?
