Hello, Elle,
I have come across something which puzzles me.
I was wandering through Amazon, so to speak, looking at books that tempt me.
I noticed an American seller with a notice on his delivery costs thing.
"Note. We do not deliver to Denmark."
Now why would that be, I wonder?
What has he got against Denmark?
Any idea?

HI, Rusty!
We are back home again!
It is still very warm and heavy out... a thunderstorm would be welcome if it would help to clear the air.
Why no delivery to Denmark from America?
I don't really know.......I would hazard a guess that maybe Denmark has a poor postal system?
Expensive to send? Custom duties? VAT?
Only possible suggestions.......I cannot think of anything else.
I did not have to pay any extra because my book "Centennial" is coming from the United States, nor did I with "Mrs. Mike".
But perhaps in Denmark, the postage is prohibitive from the US? or the recipient has to pay a Customs tax?
Got to think of dinner now......
Have you had your meal?

Hello, Elle,
Yes, I had a Conference pear for my tea.
Very nice it was.
Yes, Denmark has an awful postal system.
I investigated.
They have taxes on taxes etc.
The US seller was sensible!
No, my stuff from America costs the same as Amazon UK.
Excellent value!
Your Hill's hoist would make a fine osprey roost for the chicks heading South.
You should keep an eye on it?

Hi, Rusty!
I hope you've eaten more than a Conference pear?
Did you have a cooked meal at lunch time?
I thought that a bad postal system must be the reason for the ban on posting to Denmark!
(Nice to get something right for a change!)
What with watching for ospreys alighting on my Hills' hoist, and hugging the May tree to appease the little people......what will you have me doing next in my garden?
The garden is taking a lot of watering as we are having no rain.....and I have twenty-odd fuchsia plants in pots on my patio to water, too!
But all are flourishing well, despite the heat and the dryness.
Oops! time to rescue the dinner......!

Hello, Elle!
I had a peppered mackerel at lunch.
And another one for tomorrow.
I think the ospreys will be a bit to the West of you, going by previous migrations.
Now I have very mixed feelings about my next bit of news.
Laura Muir won in Paris tonight.
She broke the British record by more than two seconds!
That is huge!
That's the second time she has broken it.
It is a World best time for 2016.
She beat the Olympic champion, Faith Kipyegon, who came second.
That is what is bugging me.
A great pity she did not do it in Rio!
Maybe I am being picky?

PS, Elle,
I have just watched Laura's run on YouTube.
Boy, oh boy, was she impressive!
She slaughtered the field!
Have a look on YouTube.

Hey, Rusty!
Sorry, I fell asleep over my book!
I hope you haven't yet gone to bed?
That is great news!
Laura did very well indeed! Good for her!
Yes, you are definitely being picky!
The thing is , she is obviously improving all the time!
Yes, a pity it didn't happen in Rio, but you cannot blame the girl for that!
She just peaked a bit too late for the Olympic event!
(Had she peaked earlier and then failed to reproduce at Rio, it would be a different matter - and I should let you be "picky"!!
But not in this instant!)
Well done, Laura!
I am going to watch the Paris DL tomorrow - or at least record it should I be out - so I shall save watching her run until then.
A treat in store for me!

P.S. Rusty
Mind you...I'll bet Laura herself is thinking ..."Now why on earth didn't I do that in Rio?"!!!!

Hello, Elle.
The thing is, too.
The pacemakers were not fast enough for her.
She could have ran faster, I think.
It really was an astonishing run!
She was super!
