Good morning, Rusty!
It is fine here, also, but the sun is reluctant to show his face......and it is definitely much cooler.
Mind you, I like the slight sharpness in the air - very invigorating!
It was good to see Mo Farah take Gold in the 5000m.
And nice to see Charlie Grice in his first 1500m Olympic Final; which was won by Matt Centrowicz of the USA.
Caster Semenya as expected took Gold in the Women's 800m
(Your bete noire, Lynsey Sharp, came in 6th!)
Like you, I shall watch the Marathon later...although I shall have to record it, as we are going out about noon.
I have looked in the nest....no birds there now.........I wonder who claimed the fish?
So which granddaughter are you lunching with today?

Hello, Elle!
It is warm here.
Miss World Traveler is calling for me, possibly with my grandson, not sure!
Mo was super!
Yes, I knew about Miss Sharp.
There is quite a bit of "traffic" online about her up here today.
Some think she is great, most dislike her.
I am in Camp 2!
But fair play to her, she ran a PB, representing her country, so congrats from me.
I am looking forward to the marathon, then, Peter Sagan!
The chick would not eat when the crows were there.
I think he/she was frightened at these assertive crows.
Could be worse in Africa with crocodiles etc.
Must toughen up!
Mind you, I do not think crocs can climb trees!

Hi Rusty!
Actually, crocodiles CAN climb trees!
If you Google it, you can see pictures.
Does Miss ATW ever bring her younger sister along on your outings?
I think Miss O'Hara must be about the same age - maybe a year or so older? - as my eldest grandson?
He will soon be nine.
He is a mine of information!
He has a very retentive memory - once he reads something, it remains remembered.
Would that I were like that!!
I have finished the Everyman, even down to parsing the very last one!
Disappointing, because I do enjoy it when I have at least one left to "worry over"!
We are off out in another hour.........enjoy your lunch! (with one or more grandchildren!)

Hello, Elle,
Well, that is a surprise.
Never knew that about crocs!
No, just me and Miss Around the World today.
It was quiet at Pine Cone.
Where has Emily Diamond been hiding?
She ran a superb leg in the relay.
Still lovely weather here.

Hi Rusty!
Back home again!
I am not budging again today! I shall now sit on the sofa and relax!!
I am glad that you enjoyed your lunch.
I wonder why it was so quiet at the Pine Cone?
Maybe folk were staying home to watch the Marathon? especially as it featured the Hawkins brothers.
I have seen the video of the Women's 4 x 400m Relay Final on the BBC Sports website.
All the GB team played their part well, but yes, I think Emily Diamond was the "heroine of the hour"!
She ran her leg brilliantly to give Christine Ohuruogu a fighting chance of bringing the baton home in Bronze position.
Well done, Emily!
I am now about to watch the (highlights of the)Men's Marathon........ I hope Callum Hawkins did well.

Hello, Elle!
Probably quiet at Pine Cone because it was a Sunday morning.
Emily was just sublime!
She is new to me, but I shall look out for her, in future.
Maybe in the "Diamond" League!
Wonder if I have room for another heroine!
Callum ran a fine race. Finished in top ten.
Encouraging for him, I would say?
My man Sagan was going great but then had a puncture.
A very tough course.

Hello again, Elle!
Melissa has updated the blog to include the attempts by the crows to steal the chick's fish, that I mentioned earlier.
Includes a couple of pics.

Good evening, Rusty!
I have just finished watching the recording of the men's Marathon!
I cheated (just a little ) by fast forwarding in the middle or I would have been there for another hour!
It was an excellent race, wasn't it?
Kipchoge had it well under control to take Gold, and Lilesa and Galen Rupp came in for Silver and Bronze respectively.
I didn't realise that Galen Rupp could do so well.
And well done, Callum Hawkins! He came ninth!
I think Callum will be one to watch in the future.
Do you know how his brother Derek did?
I have looked at the photos of the crows and the osprey - fantastic pics!
We haven't had dinner yet........I had better go see what we can eat!

Good evening, Elle.
I think it is very warm.
A night for sleeping outside the tent.
Del Hawkins was in 114th place, in 2.29.??.
RTÉ are saying that three more of the Irish Olympic Committee have had their passports and mobile phones removed in the ongoing ticket scandal.
They are not arrested, but cannot leave the country.
Yes, good pics of the crows and the chick.
These crows are pretty fearless!

Hi, Rusty!
I wish it were warm here....it is chilly in comparison to the previous temperatures we have been experiencing.
I'm a tad confused over all this illegal tickets business?
What exactly has been happening?
And to bang the suspected perpetrators into Bangu prison seems a trifle excessive?
I have read that Bangu is host for some of Brazil's most dangerous criminals and is famous for its bloody gang violence.
Five officials there have been murdered in five years!
(But apparently - by bizarre contrast - a women's prison in the same penitentiary complex hosts an annual beauty contest!)
One newspaper article said that Patrick Hickey and Kevin Mallon (who is Kevin Mallon?) are sharing a cell, but are "accused " not "charged"!
A somewhat fine distinction??!!
A bit like being murdered but not dead?
