Hi, Rusty!
I watched Eggheads, but I shan't watch anything else tonight.
The next Athletics session will be too late, so I shall record it, and hopefully fit in watching it before the start of tomorrow's events.
Daughter has gone out to dinner at a friend's, so we are in charge of pup - whom the cat is now ruling with a rod of iron.
Every time the puppy pesters the dog, the cat rushes to her rescue!
I kid you not!
It is wonderful to see!
I could rent him out?
As a puppy trainer?
I hope the cycling goes well! and that we win some more medals!
We are doing quite nicely....fourth on the medal table last I heard?

Hello, Elle,
Ed Clancy and pursuit team have just broken the world record.
Barring accidents (and they often happen in cycling!) they are looking good for gold.
Jason Kenny and young Callum Skinner have the two fastest times in the sprint.
Looking good for the cycling team.
Good for the cat!
I wonder if Laura Muir is running today.
I expect no less than a PB from her and see where that leaves her!
I watched the bouncing competition earlier.
Never seen it before.
Britain got a silver with Bryony (I forget her surname)

Hello, Elle,
Ed Clancy and the pursuit team have won the gold medal in a new world record time.
Great race between them and Australia.
Nail biting stuff!
That is me for the day now!

Hey, Rusty!
That is all excellent news!
Yet more gold medals! The GB team is doing well!
You will have enjoyed watching!
I haven't had the television on, so hadn't heard any of this.
Bryony Page, that would be.....in the trampolining.
I don't know what athletic events are taking place tonight and in the early hours of tomorrow morning.... I just set the recorder without studying the schedule.....so I don't know when Laura is racing?
I have great hopes of her doing well!
She is another competitor who richly deserves to 'achieve greatness'.
I managed to fall in the garden while chasing the puppy to get a stone out of his mouth!
I had visions of having to confess to my daughter, on her return from dinner, that the pup was at the vets having an operation to remove said stone from his stomach!
I think pup and I got entangled - and I fell over him!
Result.... I got the stone from his mouth, but lost a lot of skin from my knee - and slightly sprained my wrist - in the process!
High Drama!
(I'm not safe let out!)

Hello, Elle,
Oh dear!
Hope you are OK!
Laura runs after midnight so she will have to manage without me!
Bryony Page! That's her!
She was very good.
I am delighted for the pursuit team.
They were behind most of the race and then came good!
Ed Clancy was in tears. I am a big fan of Ed.

Good morning, Rusty!
I am fine, thank you!
A tad sore and stiff this morning ,but otherwise in fine fettle!
A lovely day - warm and sunny.
Daughter and pup have just headed for home........but daughter will be back on Monday to bring the boys.
The two of them are staying here by themselves for a week.
I am about to hoover and tidy up....then I shall see what I can find out about last night's Athletics.......
What do you have planned?

Good morning, Elle!
Great day here! Warm!
Hoping to see Laura in replay.
But, she was third in her heat, though she was disappointed at the half-empty stadium. I will be watching athletics and cycling, and the golf, and Andy if he is still going.
Hard work keeping up with all these red buttons!

Hi, Rusty!
Whew!
Taking time out before I finish my whirlwind cleaning!
Still got the dining room to hoover!
Then I must catch up with yesterday's Athletics before this afternoon's schedule begins.....
Oh, and the dog needs walking, too!
If I am struggling to fit in one discipline, I don't know how you are managing to keep up with four!
Andy is playing Kei Nishikori in the Semi-finals at 4 o'clock.
(I can watch that on my computer - as I did Jo's race yesterday!)
Have fun channel - hopping!

Good afternoon, Elle!
I think you should go easy on your "whirlwind cleaning".
You do not want to fall over again!
Yes, it is hard work keeping track of the Olympics.
You should congratulate yourself on not having red button access.
Mind you, I would not have come across the trampoline bouncing without red button.
Laura Muir seemed quite comfortable qualifying.
Can we dream of a medal for her?
Fingers crossed for your friend Andy!

Hi, Rusty!
I have given up attempting to watch the Athletics on the television!
Despite my detailed TV guide, there never seems to be any correlation between the event and the scheduled time!
Instead, I am watching it on my desk top on BBC Sport.
Not as comfortable as sitting on the sofa, but definitely more satisfying!
There have been two distressing incidents ... a qualifier in the men's preliminary 100m heats pulled his hamstring on the finishing line and had to be taken off in a wheelchair; and in the last 3000m steeplechase heat, Diro, one of the Ethiopians, lost her shoe when three of them tangled and fell...she continued the race wearing only one shoe but didn't quite make it as a fastest loser.
She got a lot of support from the spectators!
