OK, I've watched about 10 minutes of it, and they haven't shown anything other than a putt yet. Mind you, Rose's was from about 200 yards!

Prettier than Chambers Bay, I think, rusty - there are some very interestingly-shaped mountains in the backdrop.

Chris, it is the BBC Olympic channels I have on.
Yes, the hills are fine, but I am not keen on the high-rise buildings which surround the course.
Seems to give the course a half finished look.

Good afternoon, Rusty!
Oh dear! it doesn't sound as though you are enjoying the golf very much?
Now, I have heard of Chambers Bay!
Although I forget where it is? Is it in the U.S?
Someone - was it Gary Player? - said of it that it was 'like putting on broccoli'!
The Water Polo pool is adjacent to the diving pool, I think?
Have they discovered the cause of the greenness yet?
Some sort of algae? I wonder if the pools are safe healthwise to use?
( Personally, I wouldn't want to try)
I do not actually "write".....I type!
I either send long letters as emails, or I print out what I have typed (for friends do not have computers) and I send them via "snail mail"!
I haven't heard the phrase " at the top of the hour" before, but I am thinking it must mean "on the hour"? "Something" o'clock?
A similar phrase is "every hour on the hour".
We have all been sitting out in the garden - it is a lovely day and the puppy can spend some of his excess energy chasing around!
Have you been out for a walk?

Chris, I have tried your numbers...but to no avail....
I think my daughter's research which proved that only some Freeview models could receive the official Olympic Red Buttons must apply to those numbers, too.
Thank you anyway, it was certainly worth a shot!

The numbers wouldn't be the same on Freeview, elle - can you scroll through a list of channels?

,,,,these channels didn't exist on Sky until the Olympics started - could well be the same for Freeview?

Chris, my daughter did all that - and she came across a list of the models of Freeview for which Olympic Red Button channels were available - there were only a limited number - and my model wasn't one of them!

Yes, elle, but these aren't "Red button" channels. I got the red button to work, but not the menu to pick a coverage, hence my alternative approach. The channels I've found are genuine, separate channels - and in HD too, unlike most "Red button" ones.

Hello, Elle!
I am impressed!
You know Chambers Bay. Washington State.
The broccoli quote was by Henrik Stenson, I think.
Gary Player also criticised the course.
One of his was that you would need legs of different lengths to play the course. And that a shot which landed just short of the green should NOT finish up 70 yards away.
I am by no means a fan of Gary Player, but he was right in what he said about Chambers Bay.
I read that they did not put enough chemicals in the water and it turned green.
No walking for me.
I watched Eggheads. I think Lisa will grow on me!

Hey, Rusty!
How is the golf progressing?
Are you feeling any happier about it?
How is your mate Rickie doing?
And how are we doing as a country?
I am wondering what I will think of the Athletics when it starts tomorrow........
I think I am looking forward with trepidation rather than the thought of enjoyment!
These Games seem fated...or do I mean 'tainted'?
It is good that you are enjoying Eggheads!
I like all the team and think they have a good rapport between them!
I know that some of them do meet up outside of the programme.
CJ and Daphne were/ are friends off screen - they often used to refer to meeting up.
And Kevin and Chris have sometimes referred to something they did together at a weekend.
it is good that Lisa is 'growing' on you!
I think she adds a bit of variety to the staidness of some of the menfolk!
Puppy is terrorising dog! oh dear!
