Hello, Elle!
The hiring of a very expensive lawyer that others could not afford, to get off on a technicality, is not an indication of innocence to me.
The rules say three strikes and you're out, as happened to Christine Oharugu.
Nor is flippant remarks telling everyone to get on their bikes.
That did it for me. .
And the folk making the decisions on these committees are as bad as each other.
Corruption is rife from the track to the committee rooms.
That is the reality.
And they have the nerve to condemn the Russians!
I shall cheer on Jason Kenny on the track, and the mens and womens pursuit teams, and Trotty in the omnium, but that is all.
Not interested in the GB road teams, anymore.

Good morning, Rusty!
We have another warm and sunny day here!
It was so lovely out this morning that some of us dog-walkers sat on a park bench, or stood around, talking about "things" - being reluctant to go home and go to work or get on with household chores!
So I am back later than usual.......
I see from the computer news that Lizzie is still defending her "innocence"!!
And an Irish boxer, Michael O' Reilly (does the name mean anything to you?) has been suspended from going to Rio by his own Federation for failing a doping test.
I no longer know what to trust or believe about anybody!
Oh dear!
Only one osprey chick in the nest this morning. Has Lassie left ?

Good morning, Elle!
Fine dry cool day here.
Lizzie is a chancer!
Her top lawyer got her off.
She still missed three tests.
What would we say if she was Russian?
What stinks even more is that she is now in Rio sharing an apartment with her coach, not in the village, not with her team mates.
Yesterday Froome and the mens team, and Nikki and Emma, went on their bikes to check out the course. Lizzie did not.
Her own team mates who are committed to ride for her on Sunday check the course and she does not? Come on!
She should either withdraw, or be replaced by Dani King.
That is my opinion.
And that boy friend she has, has been mouthing off about Pauline Ferrand Prevot on Twitter.
He subsequently removed the Tweet.
I feel sorry for Nikki and Emma having to ride for her.
Not right at all! I hope Pauline wins!
Michael is tweeting about his first bout!
Maybe nobody has told him?
I do not know about Lassie.
But she should be first to leave, any day now.

Hi, Rusty!
Oh dear! I don't know.......
I cannot understand why Lizzie isn't staying in the Olympic village or why she wouldn't go to check the course......could she just be keeping a low profile for a few days? till the heat dies down?
But I would not go so far as to say that I hope a competitor from another country wins the Road Race (is Pauline Ferrand Prevot French? the name sounds it?) as that would be most unfair to the rest of the team members.
They do not deserve to suffer because of Lizzie, do they?
(Is there a likelihood that Dani might replace Lizzie - or is Lizzie definitely now taking part?)
And the Olympics are a National event - not like Wimbledon where it's every man for himself and we can support our favourites, regardless of nationality.
In the Olympic Games I shall cheer for Team GB (even if it means supporting Andy Murray!)

Hello Elle/Rusty,

I've just had a peep at the nest to see..... 2 crows picking bits - then one of the female chicks landed as they flew off and she sounded very angry - after which Lassie arrived as if to protect her.
Thus Lassie is still here.

Very nice weather here.

Hello, Elle,
I do not think that way.
I have many favourites who are not in Team GB.
Like Peter Sagan of Slovakia. Cancellara of Switzerland.
I'll be cheering them.
Lizzie is behaving like a prima donna.
She is helluva fortunate to be there in the first place.
And she should be getting to know the course with her team mates, and staying with them.
My sympathies lie with Emma Pooley and Nikki Harris.
Wonder what they are thinking?
And before the London games Lizzie was ranting about Nicole Cooke not working for her. Demanding that the reigning Olympic champion ride for her!
Any time she opens her mouth it is "me, me, me"!
For me in the road race, I hope to see Pauline, or Megan Guarnier of USA, win.
Team GB right now are a shambles for the road race.
And we have every right to demand better.
It is our money that sent them there!

Good afternoon, Rusty!
That is fair enough, Rusty, if that is how you feel!
It would indeed be boring if we all felt the same way and had the same viewpoint.
For anything other than an International event, I would certainly support whomever I liked the best and preferred to win.......as I do at Wimbledon - but in this instance I shall cheer for my country - and my fellow countrymen!
I shall cheer for an individual whom I like - be he/she of whatever nationality - if he/she in not indirect contention with a Brit, but my ultimate loyalty will lie with Team GB!
I have spent most of the morning catching up with (overdue) correspondence - writing letters/sending emails/ and talking to elder daughter on the phone....
It is now time to think of taking the dog for a walk......the beautiful sunshine calls.......

Hello, Pigale!
So Lassie is still here.
I wonder for how much longer?
Market day for you today? Have you been down to the village?

Hello Elle,

Yes, I went to a very joyful and lively market, (there was a chap playig the accordeon), met a lot of people and bought a lot of gorgeous fruit !

I was glad to see the ospreys this lunchtime because every time I looked recently I was faced with an empty nest!

Just a quickie on cheering for one's country - I am very proud of being French BUT, if in rugby for instance, the French team play rubbish and deserve to lose, then I want nothing more to do with them until they pull their act together again ! This year's 6 nations tournament saw me cheering for Wales !

Hello, Elle,
Yes, I am a bit odd, I think.
You appear to be fairly normal.
I have Ireland to cheer, too!
Me being an immigrant!
I saw a photo of Eilish McColgan and Laura Muir in the paper.
They had been sent good wishes for the Games.
They are members of our local club, Hawkhill Harriers.
Eilish is a lot taller than Laura.
I was very surprised.
Eilish's Mum, Liz, is tall, too.
I often used to see her about the town.
No sun here, and we have high winds warnings for Sat/Sun.
How is your new road getting on?

Hello, Pigale!
Well done on supporting Wales.
When Scotland play Ireland at football, I support Scotland.
And when they play rugby, I support Ireland.
A crazy mixed up kid!
