Hey, Rusty!
I think Lord Moynihan used to be the Chairman of the BOA before Seb took over?
(I could have that wrong)
And isn't Princess Anne the president of the BOA?
(She certainly was; I think she still must be?)
I wonder what she thinks about all this "fudge"!
Under Theresa May's new Government , the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport is Karen Bradley.
I haven't heard her mentioned in all of this?
Yes, there is a Tube station called Green Park!
It is on the Victoria, Piccadilly and Jubilee lines.
That is well remembered.
You must have been studying your Tube map!
I have spoken to my cousin!
SHE rang ME today!

Hello, Elle!
I thought Seb was in the IAAF?
I did not think he was on any Olympic committees?
I think Princess Anne will be a token presence, though I am pretty sure she would be against dopers.
Karen Bradley is new to me.

So, have I got this right?
The IOC said several days ago, that they would leave it up to the federations to decide the Russians fate.
And now they have taken that back and appointed a committee of three IOC folk to decide what is going to happen by Friday when the Games begin?
For sheer uselessness the IOC take the biscuit!
I used to think the UCI were bad (and they were) but the IOC could give them a run for their money!
I do not know where Green Park Station came from!
Maybe it was in the News recently?

Hi, Rusty!
Seb took over as Chairman of the BOA from Lord Moynihan in 2012, and I think it is a four year term?
I believe that he is planning to step down after Rio?

I don't know anything about a committee of three being appointed to make a final decision about Russia?
As far as I knew, it was all cut and dried - after all, some of the Russian team are already established now in Rio!
So when was this latest step taken?
Are you telling me that it is all up in the air again - and that a "blanket ban" against the Russians may still happen?
OR is this committee of three just to check on the suitability of the Russian competitors so far selected?
I am very confused!
Who are the three chosen to make this decision - are they "trustworthy" personages?
(Or are they Thomas Bach's best mates?)
This is all so incredible, isn't it?

Hello, Elle!
The IOC announced the three yesterday.
Ugur Erdener, President of World Archery and head of the IOC medical and scientific commission (no laughing at the back!)
Claudia Bokel, of the IOC athletes commission.
And Juan Antonio Samaranch jr, son of the ex IOC President of the same name.
The third one does not appear to have any official capacity except nepotism?
I think they are there to rubber stamp 90% of the Russian competitors.
Do not look for justice.
These panels and committees are not interested in that.
I would say the Russians are throwing huge piles of cash at the problem that we do not know about.
Stinks to high heaven!

Hi, Rusty!
So this committee of three is to re-examine all the Russian team so far selected, to see if they are really "clean" (ie drug-free)and "suitable" to be admitted to the Games?
On paper? or in fact?
How.....by more drug-testing?
You are right, the whole affair stinks!
And this latest fiasco is utterly ridiculous!
I bet these guys are "besties" of Mr B!
I have been trying to think why Green Park would ring a bell for you?
Maybe I have mentioned it on my travels?
It is the Tube station I use when going to the Royal Academy of Arts? To an exhibition.
Could that be it, do you think?
I'm further disillusioned and I 'm going to bed!
I hope I don't dream of the IOC!

Hello, Elle,
No bed for me.
Golf is not finished yet!
Ref the IOC "Holy Trinity".
If a Russian has been banned, they are staying banned.
It is all the others who have applied, saying they are clean, that will be allowed in, or not.
Maybe you did mention Green Park?
Or a newsworthy item which included Green Park was in the paper or on the News?
Good God, no, do not dream of the IOC!
They are very unwholesome!

Good morning, Rusty!
A fine but much cooler day!
What time did you get to bed last night?
I hope the golf was worth staying up for?
I have nothing of note to report so far this morning.
I haven't seen any News yet....I hope there is nothing strange or startling happening?
No more IOC "blunders"?
Do you know how the victims of the cycle crashes yesterday are faring?
Coffee and crossword coming up........
Then those nasty words "household chores " will come to the fore........
Ugh!

elle- well remembered!
I have lots of other matters to raise about the book, it's amazing how having to lead a discussion focuses (had to look up how to spell that!) the mind. But I think the question I raised on here is the most fundamental.
"Painter of Silence" is first a good story, and secondly tells you quite a lot about Romania in the 1950s. I've read it 3 times now and also Wiki on the country's history - and ended up most confused re the latter.

Having been wild camping for 3 days I need a wash and brush up, to say the least.

Good morning, Elle!
I went to bed "late"!
Golf was good and a new Major winner in Jimmy Walker.
I have not heard any more on the injured riders, no.
One came off his bike and hit his head on a tree.
He is "serious", in one of the London hospitals.
All quiet on the IOC front today, Elle, but never fear, plenty time left for them to make some more jaw-droppingly awful decisions.
Keep the faith!
I went to ASDA today and on my shopping list was/were cornflakes. Normally I would purchase "own brand" but before I got there I decided to buy the market leader, Kellogs.
And guess who was smiling at me on the front of the packet?
Lizzie! And on the packet next to her, was Louis Smith, I think.
