Hi Rusty!
You've lost me there? What is "pruning" in connection with a radio programme?
That is something that I do to the roses!.......which reminds me....talking of the garden........we still haven't planted all our daffodil bulbs!
I think we only have a very small margin of time left to do so, according to the instructions.
I think we need to "prune" the fuchsia plants, too? Does one prune fuchsia?
They are getting tall and straggly for the first time ever, and they have been going for quite a few years.
I would look it up, only elder daughter has "borrowed" all our gardening books! (I doubt we shall ever see them again!)
Maybe I can Google it? (wherever would we be , without Google?!)
As you will gather, I am not a very skilled gardener!

Oh dear! I'm sorry to hear about your snow - have you got your snow boots at the ready?
No snow forecast here , only rain and more rain........

Hello, Elle!
"Pruning" according to my manual , is very weak stations being chopped off. It happens usually, when you may take the radio to another location, and some stations may be going out of range.
Wonder if the blessed Anne Bradford knows that meaning?
Your daffs should be in the ground now!
Fuchsia are another area in which my knowledge is non-existent!
The Google will keep you right.
Percy Thrower used to be the go-to guy. Up here it was Jim McColl.
The snow has cut off my Sky TV signal.
It never snows but it pours!
No TV but my DAB radio/wireless is working away fine.
No snow boots, Elle. Not budging today!

Hi, Rusty!
I looked up "prune (ing)" in Anne Bradford - no mention of that meaning!
I have 'finished' today's Everyman crossword - thought it relatively easy, apart from being stuck on the parsing for four clues......will look at them again later......
I do have snow boots, but, should it snow, I am determined to become housebound until it is all over - after my last little adventure!
I love the picturesque look of it, but preferably through a window!
But the wind has stopped , so.......although it is still raining (I think we are 'set' for the day) I shall go round up the troops to go out.......
Catch you later......

Hi everyone,

Hope all is well, wherever you are.

I am having trouble getting through to Google this morning - just wonder if any one of you has identical problem? My internet connection is working perfectly otherwise.

PS - forgot to mention I am using Ubuntu with Linux Mint - so, in fact, it's the Linux Mint start page that is not connecting.

Hello, Pigale!
My Google is as normal.
No TV signal though. That's caused by bad weather.
Storm Clodagh is crossing Ireland just now.
Should that affect you?
Maybe switching off and on your router may help.
It often does with these things.

It's a pretty good storm we're having at the moment! Gale force winds and heavy rain. Fortunately the golf competition this morning was cancelled.

Pigale, I have no idea regarding Ubuntu and Linux Mint.
I would try switching the router off for a couple of minutes.

Hi Rusty and ChrisE,

Your weather seems quite wild ! It's rather windy along the North coasts of France too; wind here too but not much more than usual.

Rusty, I have switched off everything and switched all back on and it makes no difference - A note came on screen suggesting that the site might be temporarily unavailable or too busy; so I think the problem lays with 'them' - particularly since everything else works OK.

OK, PigALE,
Hopefully you can get on later.
Sounds as if "they" know about the problem!
