Chris, I half caught the bit with the blue and white shoes but I had visitors in and only had a glimpse!
I saw her last year after winning a tournament when she, her caddy, and one or two of her family, all jumped into Poppie's Pond, fully clothed! All good clean fun!

Cold, but not windy here, Pigale. Dry too as yet.
Cold and dry are definitely more tolerable (to me) though than warm and wet!

Elle, I have no idea where or when we are going today.
Depends on Miss La Bamba's Uni class/es.
So, I shall be patient.
Heavy rain here!

Hi elle
It reminded me of the series of Dallas (which I didn't watch!) in which the resolution was "it was all a dream". I felt cheated (compare "A god in ruins" by Kate Atkinson.)

But Chris.....which version were we supposed to believe was true? or were we meant to be left up in the air undecided (as in Engleby)

I wasn't able to record the film, (technical hitch) altho I'm expecting that it will be simply the 'first ' version without a mention of the alternative scenario? ( I could be doing the film director an injustice here, but that is my thinking)

The reviews I have since read about both book and film strangely make no mention of the surprising turn at the end of the book? It's as though it didn't exist?
Am I reading too much into it?

I took as a straight "it didn't happen".

You mean you think the first part didn't happen? the story about Richard Parker?
Do you know how far the film took it?

Not sure about the boat bit, but the weird bit on the island - no.

I've really paid no attention to the film.

Have you read any of the reviews? it is as though the end of the book didn't exist?
People are saying that it is a wonderful story of adventure and great friendship....
.......do you think these people have actually READ the book?

I think I might well be content to remain up in the air......

Hi Rusty!
yes, sorry ...you had already said you didn't know where you were going yet!
Just ignore me........I'm not being very bright today! One of those days......... ! (blame it on reading "Pi"!)
I have finished the Times QC, but with my brain being so sluggish this morning (!) I shall leave the 15x15 till I come back!
I'm away out shortly - going over to my daughter's - we are going to visit another school this afternoon.
I think I shall apply for a job as a school inspector - I am becoming quite an expert in this field!!!!!
Have a great time with the girls - catch up later.
