Yes, Australia looks impressive.

I shall support Wales of course, (as I often do). I like that little team; I have seen her improve over the past few years but, like you, I think they will need a bit of luck!

The French have always enjoyed Wales-France rugby matches, it has always been The match of the tournament that was important, particularly in the days of JPR (who left a very nice scar on my Husband's leg !) , Gareth Edwards, and our own Albanadejo, the Spanghero brothers etc... A different rugby in those days!

~Saint Andre is viewed with mixed feelings I think - So far, I think he has had strange choice in his players perhaps in order to protect the better, more experienced ones from a bad injury this early in the competition - but luckily he changed a number of players around for the 2nd half of France-Roumania, otherwise we would have lost!

I am quite concerned about Saturday, (as I said, the Irish never let go) , but even if we did win, we would probably end up by meeting Argentina in the quarter finals - and they can be dangerous too!

ChrisE, I know the US are not that much of a Rugby country, but more American Football, but South Africa has just beaten them 64 - 0 ! I feel sorry for the poor Yanks, that is a disastrous score!

Yes, sorry seems appropriate - though two of the tries should have been disallowed!

I saw Canada taking control against Rumania yesterday, then had to do other things, so I was astonished to see the result this morning.

Where is elle? Where are (is?) everyone?

I've just started reading Kate Atkinson's "A god in ruins". It's a companion story to her "Life after life", which I loved, but I'm not enjoying this one much so far.

Hi Everyone,
Hello ChrisE,

I don't know where is anyone - I suppose Elle is busy since she is normally present on the Forum, and the same goes for Doglet and Rosalind.

I do not know the book you are talking about so therefore cannot discuss the subject with you.

I suppose this is the problem really - to find a subject/topic likely to interest enough Forum members to have a good exchange - if they read this thread that is !

I don't think tonight's rugby will bring any surprise, but am looking forward to this week-end. Who do you see as a potential second in Group C ? Scotland?

Hello all
I have been in Spain but don't like to tell the world I'm away, even if the world isn't listening
It was a walking holiday and my legs don't seem to want to walk anywhere today! It was glorious weather and I did get to see the Alhambra as well. Brilliant.
While I was away I organised for a gravestone I hoped was my gt gt grandfather's to be raised off its face and re-cemented in place. It's the right stone! It has no more information than I knew but it is good to know it's there for perhaps another 100 years.

Hello Rosalind, and welcome back!

Glad you enjoyed Spain and the nice weather ! The Alhambra is quite something indeed.

How much walking have you done? Where did you start and where did you end up?

Have you ever visited Seville?

Pigale.
Walked from near Almunecar to Salobrena, 6 miles. Then Playa Canuelo to La Herradura (not much fun). Next day between Capileira and Pampaneira, which was down side of gorge, along river, up side of gorge (ouch).Last walk was near Frigiliana, circular, about 5/6 miles but again very steep in places. John Keo Walking Tours has a facebook page with pictures of us (all un named!) on the dates 4-9 October. I am in some of them!!!
My legs still do not want to know

So far, France does not impress me and deserves to lose !
Saint Andre should change a few players.
