The kittens are from a local allotment we have got most of the females spayed but there is always one who gets away this year she went into the trap and as the kittens were weaned we spayed and returned her the gardeners feed them and always call if anyhing is wrong only 2of the litter were healthy the rest had congenital eye problems due to inbreeding but the two are doing and have a home waiting for them in July,They try to be so fierce but they are so weeny it just makes me laugh

PLease dont be put off everyone has something to say and it is good when people talk abouththeir lives etc.I dont drive either and lots of friends cannot imagine I manage leave the house and go out and about

Same here, but I manage very well - I either walk down 700 metres to the centre of the village (which is good for me) and climb the hill back (a bit less pleasant!) and for main shopping, we have a supermarket about 800metres up the road from my house - I shop on line and they deliver the next day - brlliant!

We have a market every Friday morning and if I had a car, I would have problem with parking - so I feel free and easy.

In my earlier years in Paris, anyone with any sense goes without a car! much easier to use public transport or a taxi for a treat.

In UK, the bus service was good (I guess it has since changed), and then when I moved to Guernsey, I became a biker - a 125 Kawa which was plenty powerful enough for the island. And I can say that it was great riding along the coast when the weather was good. (And less problem for parking)

So for me, no need to drive a car!

I holidayed at Loch Torridon years ago. Very isolated, but ideal as we took our Labrador with us. I remember visiting Plockton, T.V. home of Hamish McBeth.

I (we) had a lab too Albie, an English one - the average lab in France is somewhat shorter - And when we moved back here, we obviously took him with us - on the ferry -

No problem with quarantine going into France but apart from a check with Vet to get a certficate of good health, the paperwork we had to do was about as much as applying for a passport~!

Anyway, it was well worth while.

We never ventured across the Channel, even though we live in Kent. We did do a lot of GB, our favourite place was Dorset. Our lab loved the sea. He'd go straight in after smelling the salt water. We have a rescue dog now, 18 months old, and as one of my mates told me, a cross between Banjo and a Frying Pan.

We had three rescue Labs, one after the other. They all loved the water, especially the quiet little coves on Studland, Dorset. I now just look after friends' dogs.
