As you say, my Brewers is almost 10 years older than Rusty, though it is still good apart from a few phrases here and then; but for you to replace your old book, you might as well invest in the 18th edition - and by French prices, 11 pounds would be like 15 euros - a lot cheaper than what I quoted you earlier on, particularly since the delivery cost was not included in it !

By the way, on the inside jacket of my book, it says 25 pounds - that was in 2001 - so your price is definitely good !

Why not look on eBay.
I usually check there before I commit to an Amazon deal.

I dog walk with a friend who talks like that all the time! I'm very surprised that her accent hasn't changed over time, because it's very many years since she lived in the East End, but no.... she and her husband still speak "broad cockney"! Sometimes it's hard to understand!

Thers are oddities in language everywhere.
In my town there are no "roundabouts".
We call them " circles", to the consternation of incomers.
Inverness folk speak clear plain English, I think.

I decided to go ahead and order the hardback 18th edition of Brewers.- so all now done and dusted!
I was going to leave it till tomorrow, but then I remembered that after I've been out with the dog in the morning, I'm going to get my hair cut, and by the time I return home after that, our daughter and the boys will be here for the week!
So it seemed simpler to do the ordering now!
I shall donate the older version to he charity shop!

Now, after you have a trim, would it not be a good idea, I think, to head to ASDA and buy extra food for them?

There 's just one problem with that, Rusty..... we don't have an Asda! So no 'Whoops' cabinet!
Our nearest supermarket (walkable) - and my favourite - is Sainsbury's. Altho we also have a Tesco a short drive away.
But have no fear, we are already well- stocked with all the "goodies" that the boys like to eat!
Plus we have cooked some 'sensible' meals as well! and the beds have been made up since last week. I am all organised!
All we need now is some good weather! I would prefer it to keep fine!

Good, the young ones are most important!
I have a TESCO the same distance away as my ASDA, but it is not as good. And the ASDA staff are very helpful and far friendlier. I believe that is important.
A shop I like is Morrisons, but it is a scutter to get to, so ASDA it is for me.
It is quite windy here.
