Hi, Rusty!
Yes, I have done a few of the Latin clues....
My friend very kindly sent me the puzzle again in a different format, and this time I was able to print it out properly.
It even came out in black and white, instead of a very pale pink!
But it is difficult.......far more so than was last week's puzzle.
I do not think I shall get very far with it, although I am enjoying the challenge!
I didn't watch "Eggheads " tonight. I deleted the recording by mistake !
A senior moment!

Good morning, Elle!
It is a fine morning here!
I find it strange that there has not been any queries on the forum about the Latin puzzle?
Maybe there has been and I have missed them, though.
On my Sky recorder I can delete recordings, but they do not "go" from the system for four weeks and are easily retrieved.
A bit like the system for deleting emails.
They must know about "senior moments" and this system can retrieve the "deleted" programmes.
Lassie looking quite content sitting on the eggs!

Good morning, Rusty!
Damp here.......resulting in muddy wellies and muddy dog!
I think the rain is set to continue until mid afternoon.
I am about to brave the wet weather yet again, in a few minutes, as I want to buy some Easter eggs for all the grandchildren.
As I shall not be seeing the two eldest over Easter itself, I want to give them their eggs whilst they are here.
(They can take them home with them)
Yes, I, too, can retrieve any deleted emails .........but not video recordings.
I am afraid many a time I have deleted the wrong programme!
Right, off now on an Easter Egg hunt!

Update, Rusty!
A successful Easter egg shop.
We now have six chocolate eggs in readiness for our grandchildren!
We also did a bit of grocery shopping whilst at Sainsburys.
And I bought two paperback books!
I am in now for the rest of the day....
A coffee first.......and then a look at the crossword.

Good afternoon, Elle!
Lovely day here!
Wonder when Easter is?
Crossword puzzle is fairly straightforward, I think.
I am waiting on the postie calling before I go for a wander.

Hi, Rusty!
I could do with some of your sunshine...it is raining quite heavily here now.
Easter Sunday is April 21st.
I have nearly finished the crossword......
I cannot do 6d: Part of Australia maybe with unusual language to convey code of honour (7)
B?S?I?O
I have no ideas?
And cannot see how "ether" is arrived at in 22d?
The clue reads: I'm volatile in that place, the first to rise up(5)
The answer is obviously "ether " = "I'm volatile" (def)
there - in that place
But how can it be the 'first" to rise up?
Surely it should be the "last"?
Or am I on the wrong track altogether?
Is the postie bringing you something nice?

Hello, Elle!
It is a great day here but on the cool side!
6d, is "Bushido", a Japanese code of honour.
I have heard of the Knights of Bushido.
The "Bush" is part of Australia and "Ido" is an artificial language related to Esperanto.
22d, I agree with "ether", but there seems to be a blunder in the clue?
I would say last goes first, too.
I have been waiting on a book from the postie.
But it has not turned up yet..
I will email them tomorrow if not in tomorrow's post.

Hi, Rusty!
Thank you for explaining "Bushido".......
That is two new words in one, for me!
I did not know either "Ido" or "Bushido.
Now....some good news!
I have received a phone call this afternoon, from the Insurance company, and they have agreed to the estimate for the repair work, so we can go ahead now and arrange for the work to be carried out, whenever the builders can fit it in.
I have been extremely impressed by the helpful attitude and cover provided ......it has made life so much simpler and smoother than it might have been.
Good for them!
I hope EJ turns up safely....she is a good age!
What is an average age for ospreys to live to?
Yes, I should get on to Amazon about your book......
What book have you ordered?

Hello, Elle!
Collins tell us that "Bushi" is Japanese for warrior, and "do" is Japanese for "way".
That is a very quick and positive reply from your insurers!
Ospreys can live for 20/25 years, I think.
Lassie's predecessor, Lady, nested at Loch of the Lowes for 24 years, so they think she was about 29 when they last saw her.
She was exceptional, though.
It is eBay my book is coming from.
I have contacted the store, Goldstone, but no reply yet.
My book is "Death at Wolf's Nick" by Diane James.
It's about a murder which took place in 1931, in Northumberland.
I have read another book about the case, some years ago, so this may shed new light on it.
