Hello, Elle!
No more snow, so far, and it is less windy.
What we had has melted away.
I would say Cheltenham is sort of South West England?
Yes, it is simpler to ask, but I am no geography whizz kid!
Just been reading that Kelly Catlin has died.
She was a top US cyclist. Triple world champion.
She was only 23 years old.
Don't know what happened to her.

Hi, Rusty!
I do not know Kelly Catlin, but earlier I had come across an article about her, when I was browsing the News online.
It did not say much, other than giving her age and listing some of her achievements, but it quoted her father as saying that she had committed suicide?
I remember thinking that it seemed surprising, as there was no suggestion of a reason.....
On the face of it, she had everything going for her.
How very sad.
Still wet here......

Hello, Elle!
I read it on a cycling site I use a lot.
She was fast.
I remember she rode with Sarah Hammer, etc, in the US pursuit team.
A tragedy.
No sign of our promised snow.
And the next week's forecast does not mention snow, so that's good!

Cheltenham is about 45 miles West of Oxford.
I was going to suggest Kelly Catlin had killed herself as I read an article in which she said some very odd things that made me think she was under too much pressure. I'm not interested in "sport" of any kind, but I am concerned about the damage to youngsters in highly competitive and demanding sports.

Hello, Elle!
Here is the article about Kelly in Velo News.
I didn't know she was a triplet!

Hi, Rusty!
I have just read the link that you sent.
It does sound as though, unfortunately, Kelly was under quite a lot of pressure, one way or another?
Too much going on, perhaps, for her to be able to cope....
Success can be a good thing, but perhaps too many irons in the fire can prove too stressful?
Who knows.....?
Her family must be devastated.

Hello, Ros!
I have been to Oxford, although a long time ago.
Yes, that gives me a better idea where Cheltenham lies.
Thank you!

Hello, Elle!
Yes, she had a lot on her plate.
Poor girl.
I knew little about her, other than she rode with Sarah Hammer.
Her family and her cycling family will be devastated, as you say.
Athletes at the very top do have a lot on their plates.
Look at Laura Muir, doing a degree course and racing at top level.
Cheltenham racecourse is at the bottom of Cleeve Hill in the Cotswolds.
Is that any help?

Hi, Rusty!
Yes, and Laura is not alone in that.
Quite a number of our athletes are doing / have done degree courses, whilst coping with their athletics training, and competitive racing.
It is a lot of pressure.
I don't know where the Cotswolds are, Rusty, so that doesn't help me place Cheltenham!
And now I am going to bed.....I may have dozed this morning, but I am tired again now!
G' night!

Good afternoon, Rusty!
I have only just got back..........and now I am away out again, almost straightaway!!
It has been one of those days!
But you do not appear to be about either?
Maybe catch up later?
At least the sun is shining!

Good afternoon, Elle!
Great day here.
Was frosty this morning, though.
I've had an easy day.
Just watched Paris-Nice cycling stage.
A win for Dylan Groenewegen today, (he won yesterday, too!)
The crosswinds caused many splits in the peloton.
A hard day for the riders!
The puzzle was not too hard today....a pity!
