A Very Good morning to you, Rusty!
It is much warmer here, too, about 10C - but very wet again!
Very muddy dog....
I have a split in my Nubucks, so will have to effect a repair with the StormSure Glue.
Wonderful stuff!
I don't know "loon pants"?
I probably knew them by another name......
I have already had my delivery of pet food arrive... right at the beginning of the " one hour time slot"!
I have nothing essential to do now until the dog is ready for another walk.. or plodge, if the rain keeps this up!
Time now for a coffee, my apple and (Cheddar) cheese...and the crossword!

Hello, Pigale!
I wonder could your "round" trousers be what we called "drainpipes"?
"Loon pants" are new to me , too.
Maybe they were flares, or bell-bottoms?
I was an expert at walking, dancing , even running, in stilettos!
Looking at them now though...I do wonder how I managed?
(Or why I even wanted to do so!)
My heels now are much more moderate!

Yes Elle, I never had problems with stilettos either and carried on
wearing high heels for many years - just slightly different shape.
But my father was in the shoe trade so he supplied me with the latest
fashion shoes before they were even in the shops! I was lucky and
did not really appreciate having to 'BUY' my shoes once he retired!
it was somewhat of a shock!

At present, I wear very very low heel shoes/booties because of my
back problem - must be sensible!

We used to call the loon trousers 'elephant paw pants', and you are
correct I think about your calling them 'flares'.
Drain pipes, no! my round trousers were much wider than
drain pipes ones. I never understood how they could be made though,
I mean no seam? How did they manage to cut the material? unless
it was purpose-manufactured just for this?

Hello, Elle!
A pity about the Nubucks!
The StormSure will do the trick, hopefully.
I think it was loon pants the Bay City Rollers wore.
Have you heard of them, maybe?
I am just getting ready to head out for a dander.
Now will I wear a skort, loon pants, or round trousers!

Pigale

I know what you mean about the contrast in lengths. A friend who I have known for about 30 years, wears a suit with a short skirt but a long jacket. The jacket goes down to about 2-3 inches above the hem of the skirt. She is about 55 now but looks great in this.

Jigjag, 55 is still reasonably young, particularly if you still have
'a body'!

I hope your friends enjoys looking 'great' for some time yet!

Good afternoon, Rusty!
I think my Nubucks' days are numbered!
But I have duly "mended" them, and hopefully they will last a little bit longer.
Mind you, I'm going to need wellies and /or a canoe if this weather keeps up!
And rain wasn't even forecast for today...it was supposed to be "dry".
Yes, I remember the Bay City Rollers....
Looking at photos of them, they seemed mainly to wear what we would now refer to as "cropped" trousers/ jeans.
But I guess fashions do not change all that much.....styles do come back...just slightly altered in some subtle way from their previous appearance!
Like flares...now somewhat slimmer and less exaggerated and called bootleg trousers!
How was your walk?
Whither did you wander?

Hello, Elle!
How about keeping your Nubucks for when you are "helping" your husband with the garden work?
And invest in a new pair for your walks?
It's a fine day here, now.
If it's still raining with you, a canoe or a pirogue would come in handy, right enough!
I am out of my depth with this talk of fashion and clothes.
I'll leave that to Pigale and you!
I like to appear reasonly kempt and my granddaaughters are perfectly content to sit alongside me when we go out, so I suppose I'll "do"!
I just had a stroll to two building sites to see how the work was coming along.

Don't worry Rusty, I think we have more or less exhausted the
subject, have we not Elle?

Hi, Rusty!
Ah, I am ahead of you here...I already do have a "spare" pair of (new) walking boots, standing by........all ready to leap into the fray when needed!
I am just wearing my old ones out.
( I wear clogs in the garden)
I am sorry that we have been talking of fashion....but...er... I wonder who it was that first mentioned "skorts" yesterday?
Now....was it The Kinks who sang about "a dedicated follower of fashion"?
I appreciate that you are not a "fashionista" (what a nice word) but I'm sure you scrub up very well, when going out with your granddaughters!
What is being built?
I had thought the "new" cafe was already finished ?
Didn't you say that you and Miss L-B were considering going there on your next trip out?
Yes, still raining!

Yes, Pigale….. we shall talk of something else.....
