Hi, Rusty!
Now, Megan Boyd, I do know! She is a salmon fly tyer!
You have mentioned her on several occasions.
I have just had a "blast from my past"!
The phone rang... it was a friend and old work colleague, who I haven't seen, or even spoken to, for about thirty years!
We have always kept intermittently in touch over the years via emails, and Christmas cards, but no more direct contact than that.
She was phoning from Spain, where she has lived for many years .
There was quite a bit of reminiscing about our "youth"!
And of course exchanging up-to-date news about our families.
We are hoping maybe to meet up over the coming year.....that would be good!
I have "The Voice" to watch this evening .....are you going to record it...or have you given up on it?

Good evening, Elle!
Yes, I was a fan of Megan!
I have just watched a documentary on Hannah.
It was very interesting, though a bit bleak up on the high ground in winter.
But, if the ASDA girls question me about it, I'll know a bit about the remarkable Hannah!
Good how your friend had your 'phone number to call you!
I have not my TV on tonight, I'm not sure if I have it set to record anything.
But, I have YouTube to explore.

Update, Elle!
I had heard of "sea urchins" and looked them up.

https://a-z-animals.com/animals/sea-urchin/

They are quite "hedgehoggy" looking?
And, apparently, the red sea urchin is the longest living creature on earth.
They live to over 200 years.
I certainly did not know that!

Hi, Rusty!
I am writing this in the ad break of "The Voice".......
I do like the interaction between the coaches - it is one of the best parts of the show!
I really like Will.i.am - he is such a nice guy, and very much a philanthropist....he does a lot of good things.
Yes, my friend and I have always kept in touch...she and her husband lived quite near to us, before they went to live in Alicante.
Hannah Hauxwell sounds quite a character?
I shall look her up later.....

Good morning, Elle.
A bit cold and sleety and quite windy this morning.
I liked Hannah.
What a life of hardship she endured.
I can relate to her going to the well for water!
Just a year ago she died.
I hope to see a bit of the tennis today.

Good morning, Rusty!
It is very wet here, too, but mildish (5C)
We have decided to go out with the dog around midday, when the heavy rain will have supposedly stopped, rather than tramp around in the damp.
Dog has been out in the garden instead.
I shall keep a weather eye on the tennis scores......and then watch the highlights later in the day.
I have already finished the Everyman puzzle!
Are you still going to the Pine Cone?
or is the weather too bad to venture so far?

Hello, Elle!
I think we should be OK for the Pine Cone, but Miss O will decide.
Just watched Hannah's funeral.
There are dozens of videos about her.
She met a duchess once!
I had never heard of her until the ASDA girls told me I would like her.
I am glad they did!

Hi, Rusty!
There seem to be a number of books, both about Hannah and also written by her?
Are you going to indulge yourself and buy one?
I met a duchess, too!!
And when we were in Khartoum, we were invited to meet the Pope, who was due to arrive there on a stately visit!
But we had to decline, as our connecting flight left the day before his arrival!

Hello, Elle.
It is a very cold wind blowing!
I have had a quick look at the "Hannah" books.
I may buy one, but not sure if I would like any.
Hardship is not a very cheery read.
You met a duchess!
You'll be going to Royal Ascot next.
As far as I can mind, the only known folk I have met were the Ronettes, an American singing trio, way back in the sixties.
Ronnie Bennett, her sister, Estelle, and cousin Nedra Talley.
My son did quite a bit of plumbing work for the late Mike MacDonald-Cooper, who was a Times Crossword champion.
Told me Mike was a very nice lad.
I think he may have won Countdown, but it is not a programme I watch.

Hi, Rusty!
Oh, I am sure I will have told you about meeting Katharine , the Duchess of Kent, when she used to attend the tennis matches at Wimbledon?
(I dig it out every so often and give it an airing!
My brush with royalty!)
She is a lovely lady, very chatty and unassuming!
It was a delight to meet and talk to her.
What is happening with Rafa?
From the scores, it would appear that Novak is walking all over him?
