Hello, Elle!
Amazon's response seems to be perfectly normal.
The supplier is given a set time to sort the matter out, and if not, Amazon will get involved.
eBay works the same way.
I do not think it should cost your husband any money to return the book, as he was supplied with a "wrong item".
Is there a "returns label" with the book?
I know that eBay sometimes include a label.
Or, they may send one for you to print off.
I think your husband's money is perfectly safe and will be returned if no book available.

Hi, Rusty!
Yes, all sounds good!
According to the official blurb, if the supplier deems my "Return Request" to be reasonable, then I will be sent a Returns label to print out.
Presumably the money is refunded once they have the book back in their possession.
I have asked if it be possible to get the correct volume, in due course .......but the money back would be something!
Thanks again for your assistance!

Don't worry elle, the supplier should issue you with a pre-paid return label. Whether or not he still has the item your husband actually ordered is another matter, but if he doesn't you should have your money returned in full- not sure about the postage. I have had a couple of dud books from amazon suppliers, one time the back pages were stuck together, I just said so and got a refund. They didn't even want the books back (they weren't saleable anyway).

Snowing lots here, and sticking. The children will be thrilled.Probably no school tomorrow

Hello, Elle!
Your "return request" seems very reasonable, given that the wrong item was sent.
At worst, your husband should not be out of pocket.
Any problems with the supplier, (and there should not be), get Amazon involved and there should be a speedy resolution, at least financially.
The seller will be "Amazon approved" and will want to keep it that way!

Hi, Rusty!
I think I have Amazon involved already, thanks to your wise advice to go to them first.
It was through Amazon that I clicked on the link to access the seller......and thus asked for the "Return Request"
The acknowledgement we have since received came directly from Amazon
I have watched Rafa's match.
He is playing well.......indeed, superbly!
It is sleeting here!

Hello, Ros!
It is unfortunate that it was such an expensive book, even at secondhand rates!
But all seems set fair now, for a hopefully speedy refund, if not a replacement correct volume.
Enjoy your snow!

Hello, Elle!
All seems to be normal procedure with Amazon.
Have you told the seller the problem?
Be good if they have the correct book, but if not, your husband should be refunded in full.
Rafa was very impressive, I thought.
He meets young Stefanos, next!
No snow or sleet here, but it is supposed to be the coldest night of the Winter, so far.
Minus 3C forecast.

Hello Elle

Yes I agree that 4d yesterday was a great clue and indeed there is nothing wrong with it.

It was just that Malone was saying on another thread last week that she is irritated by the constant use of IT/SA for "sex appeal" when so out-of-date. I thought the "Get IT to get her" idea was clever, but suggested that IT in the computer sense made it an even better clue. I know ladies who prefer men to have "computer skills" to traditional "sex appeal", i.e. they prefer Bill Gates to James Bond.

I have no skill in either sense of "IT" unfortunately!

Hi, Rusty!
Yes, I have told the seller the basic issues.
It wasn't easy, as I was only allowed to use a very limited number of characters when I filed my report.
There was a countdown as I wrote each letter!
Really weird?
I had to explain that it was the wrong volume , that my husband already possessed that particular book, and that, also, it arrived three weeks later than the expected delivery date.
I had to redraft the note several times to fit it all in!
So Rafa is playing Stefanos............well, that should be interesting?
I hope I get to see the highlights!
Alternating now between heavy sleet and rain!

Hello, Elle!
So the wrong book was three weeks late, too?
Ridiculous!
You won't have heard from the seller yet?
They may have two days to reply, I think.
I hope it works out satisfactorily for you, but obviously your husband will be disappointed, unless they do have the correct book to send him.
You cheer on Rafa, and I'll support the young lad!
Should be a great match.
Paddy Power says it is on tomorrow midnight,
They have Rafa as a red hot favourite!

Hi, Rusty!
No, we haven't heard back yet from the seller.
The only one to respond so far is Amazon.....but that was just an automatic acknowledgement.
But at least we have that "in writing".
Okay, so it's a deal! You support Stefanos, and I'll do the same for Rafa.......we'll see who can cheer the loudest!
It should hopefully be a good match.
Shall you place a bet on Stefanos?
My son-in -law was involved in a three car "bump" on a roundabout, in the snow , but fortunately he isn't hurt.
Although the car is!
This snowy/ icy weather is certainly treacherous .
How is the weather now at your end?
