Good evening, Elle!
I knew of "Yo" but have not heard it used.
We have several "gates" and "gaits" down town, but the "northern" threw me.
I would have spelled it with a capital "N" anyway, rightly or wrongly!
But I have heard of "gates" in London, like Newgate and Cripplegate, but are they streets, I wonder?
My Bradford's has "gate" under "street".
On-line Collins has "gate" as a "street" in Britain, and does not mention Northern.
Anyway, I am sure "elongate" is correct!

Actually, no, neither Newgate nor Cripplegate is a street, but are two of the historic seven gates of the London Wall around the City of London .
(If you google them, you can read more information)
However, there is "Newgate Street", where Newgate prison is situated.
But why give it a name that apparently translates then as "New Street Street"?
Of course there may well be some streets/ roads in London that are simply called "Something Gate"...I just cannot think of any?

Yes, the choir were great, as was the lady judge!
I thought she may get up on the stage and join in!
My social diary for the weekend is almost full.
Miss LB on Friday, my grandson and his young lady are taking me for breakfast on Saturday, and Miss O and me are out on Sunday.
I have pens and pencils for Miss O's classes!
I have my MOT tomorrow.

I think that is extremely kind of you...and Miss O will be delighted for her children!
Wow! that young sand artist was fantastic!
I was fascinated just by the original drawing alone .......but when she went on to create so many varied drawings, I was absolutely enthralled!

Now, my grandson is not like the rest of us!
He is not a "bacon roll" man.
Prefers posher places to go.
So I go with him just to humour him.
We are going to the Bridgeview Restaurant.
It is on the riverside looking over the Tay and the rail bridge.

I have been several times and it is very good, but not the friendliness of the Pine Cone, and dearer!

The sand artist was great, I thought, but I wanted your opinion as you like art?
It seemed to be very moving for the audience.
I am going to see if I can find any more of her performances.
But, tomorrow!
That's what I love about the "Got Talent" shows.

It is drizzling here this morning and remaining quite mild..... it will be a shock tomorrow if the temperatures drop as low as threatened.
I think the Bridgeview Restaurant looks very nice....... I hope they offer an interesting menu!
I think that I would like the Pine Cone, as it obviously has a very friendly and comfortable atmosphere ( and I like bacon rolls, too! )
But I also enjoy going to "posh" restaurants...and enjoy a diversity of food, especially Indian and Chinese cuisine.
One of the restaurants that my friend and I go to for lunch on a Thursday offers an All -day breakfast, with many variations.......
I enjoy that !
I have just read the link you sent about Kseniya Simonova.
I had not realised that she was so well- known.
She has created a lot of incredible sand "stories" about important occasions and principles , hasn't she?

It was "a bit black over Bill's mother's" earlier, but a fine day now.
Fairly mild, too.
The Bridgeview is very nice and great views over the river.
But....it aint the Pine Cone!
I think they have an "interesting" menu, but I would be the last person to ask about that!
I have very simple tastes, I'm afraid.
I have just dropped my car off at garage for MOT.
I had not heard of Kseniya until I found her last night.
She is very impressive...the real deal!
I may look later to see if I can find any more of her work.

She is a Swiss speed painter and very impressive, too.
