Hello, Elle!
It is not cold here, but quite mild.
Good the Northern folk are fine!
I recognise the name, Olly Murs, but I would not know him, or Will.I.am.
I know Tom Jones and Boy George, though!
I have been watching another documentary on the Iolaire.
This one is mainly in Gaelic, about the creation of the centenary memorial, and the folk who took part.
I thought the memorial was super.
Margaret was in it with a portrait of her widowed grandmother, I think it was.
It was a relative who was widowed by the disaster, anyway.
A good programme.

Hi, Rusty!
Can you understand Gaelic then?
Or was the programme subtitled?
I haven't had the television on at all today.
I shall have to do some catching up tomorrow......
I have quite a number of recordings from the last few days to watch.
I wonder will my 'missing' parcel arrive tomorrow ?
Unfortunately, as I have no idea what time I might expect it (different from before), this time I cannot guarantee to be here.
Let us hope it at least doesn't arrive whilst I am out for my morning walk.

Hello, Elle!
No, I only have several words in Gaelic.
I could not converse in it.
They used subtitles when Gaelic was being spoken.
But, remember, this was on BBC ALBA, which is a Gaelic speaking channel.
My cousin-in-law likes ALBA.
His favourite programme is "DIY le Donnie".
Do it yourself, with Donnie MacLeod!
My cousin-in-law has not a word of Gaelic but he understands what is going on, and is a fan of Donnie!
Surely you can collect your parcel at a depot, if you are out when they try to deliver?
That's what happens here.
They leave me a card, and I go to the depot the next day.

Hi, Rusty!
Uhm...I shall take it greatly amiss if, after waiting in all day on Saturday for a non- event delivery, I am later expected to traipse to the local Sorting Office to pick up my parcel!
Especially when I have paid a home delivery fee for a set date and time delivery slot!
Fair enough if one is just taking pot luck on delivery....then, should I by chance be out, I do not mind going to collect a parcel from the S.O.
It is the principle of this instance that annoys me!

Hello, Elle!
It looks as if I did not understand the position.
Do I take it you arranged a set date and time slot with either M&S, or a carrier, and paid money for that service?
I would think whoever you paid money to, owes you at least an apology and possibly a refund, of some, if not all, of the fee you paid.
When I have to go to my Sorting Office, there has been no time slot or anything arranged, just that I am out.
It suits me better to go to Sorting Office, rather than rearrange delivery.

Hi, Rusty!
Yes, Rusty, exactly that!
I am sorry if I did not make that clear ?
That is why I am so annoyed, and am asking to have my delivery fee refunded!
What actually happens is one can choose the day.....paying of course for the service ......and then on the specific morning, M&S gives you the time slot.
Only they failed to deliver!

Hello, Elle!
I see now!
Your deal is with M&S, then.
They should reimburse you as they arranged the carrier who let you down.
I would chase M&S up, and I am sure you will!

Good morning, Rusty!
Dull and fairly mild today!
Update on parcel delivery.....
I received an email at 6.17 am informing me that my parcel would be delivered between 10.13 and 14 13 today.
I cam back from my walk at 9.30 am to find that said parcel had arrived at 8.43 am, whilst I was out!!
Fortunately my husband was at home to receive it.
Words fail me!!
I am in need of a coffee......

Good morning, Elle!
Great day here and not cold at all.
January is going well, so far!
I was out doing little tasks like arranging MOT and stuff.
Who sent the email, Elle?
Was it M&S or the carrier?
It is great that your parcel arrived and very fortunate that your husband was home to take delivery of it.
I would let M&S know that their carrier is unreliable.
You are paying extra for a service that is a bit harum scarum to say the least.
But, the main thing is, your parcel has been delivered.

Hi, Rusty!
Is it time for your MOT already?
It doesn't seem that long ago that you had it?
Or am I maybe thinking of your organising one for your granddaughter?
Now... emails...
The first two were from M & S, and were simply about acknowledging and dispatching my order.
The following ones were all from Royal Mail, giving first the date of arrival, and then a subsequent time slot.
I shall wait to see what response I get from sending the official complaint form to Royal Mail.
Following that, yes, I shall get in touch with M &S.
You know, if RM had simply said that they were sorry that they couldn't deliver to schedule... I should not have minded.
It was the outright lie about their attempting a delivery that annoyed me!
As you so wisely say, at least I have the parcel here safely.
