t's a small boy's reference to "Strictly Come Dancing" which holds the nation (or some of it, Ibet not rusty or chris!) in thrall on Saturday and, to some extent Sunday, evenings. The ladies doing Latin American dancing wear very little. My grandson was about 4 when he said that in all innocence!

I have followed your excellent advice, and have downloaded the browser "Brave" on my Hudl.
I now have an ad -free environment there ...... it is wonderful!
All I need now is for the tablet to have a thorough cleansing of all the rubbish that I have some how accumulated (a job for daughter, I think, as I mentioned before)
"The Last Hillwalker" by John Burns sounds vaguely reminiscent of our friend Bill Bryson?
But perhaps without his somewhat wicked humour?
And what of the other book....the "Farthest North"?

I am not sure what kind of rubbish you mean?
Is it shortcuts on screen, that you no longer need?
If so, it is very simple to get rid of them.
If it's junk files and stuff clogging the memory, I use an app fro Google Play Store to install and run it, and it cleans out all the junk and old files.
Most of the cleaners are free.
I use "Norton Clean, Junk Removal", but there are many more to choose.
"The Last Hillwalker" is Burns reflecting on his days in the mountains etc. Should be good.
Now the other book is about the voyage of the Fram to the North Pole.
Nansen was an astonishing man.
He was a champion skier, scientist, polar explorer, diplomat, Nobel Prize winner, and created the "Nansen Passport".
I think it will be a great book!

Yes, I must admit to being quite pleased with myself!
I am not very adept at using appliances where I have to "swipe" rather than "press", which is probably why I prefer to use my desk top computer and my old-style Nokia 1100!
I do have Piriform (free) Cleaner and Piriform Defraggler installed on my desk top - both work well - but do not have anything set up on the Hudl.
Your two prospective books sound good!

There are loads of cleaners for your Hudl in Google Play Store.
If it is unwanted homescreen "shortcut icons" you want rid of, simply hold it down with your finger and "drag" it up to the top left hand corner where an "X" will appear, drag it onto the "X and it will disappear.
Nansen was a great humanitarian, too.
He was really a very remarkable man.
He deliberately got the Fram ice-bound in the pack ice as his theory was it would go very close to the North Pole with the currents under the ice.
I am really looking forward to the book on the Fram's voyage!
I saw no tennis today, and I missed the skiing, too!

I agree with you and Rusty that "limbo" was not a satisfactory clue in the Times final. The definition is wrong. Anyone who put Lambo could have challenged, claiming Lamo was short for Lamborghini, although it is usually lambo, with b in, and lambo as the definition.

It is a beautiful day here, but very cold!
I am quite happy with this....'cold and dry' beats 'warm and wet' any day, in my book!
A great day for walking, although I have not yet ventured forth.
The cat wasn't feeling too well when I got up this morning....... the problem appeared to be a fur ball which he had trouble getting up.
He's now eaten breakfast and seems lively enough.
I shall keep an eye on him though for a while.
We shall have a leisurely morning, instead, and go out early this afternoon.

Well, a local university student has just cycled up it almost 150 times non-stop. That is climbing the height of Mount Everest in 140 miles. That was the challenge.
Sean did it for a motor neuron disease charity.
Quite an astonishing ride!
