Ah yes, I remember "The Nun's Story".
You are, of course, quite right, Audrey Hepburn was indeed in that.
And also in "Gigi" with Louis Jourdan as the young romantic male lead, with Maurice Chevalier and Hermione Gingold providing the older romance.

They were fantastic in that song!

The things that I 'remember' are of little historical consequence!
Isolated incidents....William Huskisson becoming President of the Board of Trade Act in 1823 (Lord only knows why I should remember that?); Louis XIV's valet finding bit of Louis' toes in his socks; Marie Antoinette 's hair turning white overnight ...and her saying "Why not give them cake " on learning that there was no bread!; and, of course, Garibaldi being shot...in the foot!!

A kind -of send-up of MI6 for which Graham Greene used to work, I think?

We had frost this morning and it's a beautiful day now.
I have been painting metal railings this morning.
Finished now, though, and that is all I am up to today.

I have read that that is not possible?

Yes, the crossword was reasonable today.....but somehow I didn't enjoy it as much as yesterday's puzzle.

Yes, hopefully my son will visit with a sticky bun for me from Tiffany's!
The hair turning white was said to have happened to Mary, Queen of Scots, too, before her execution.
I have read that a woman who was hanged at Exeter jail in 1936, her raven hair allegedly turned white in the six weeks she was in the condemned cell.
But who knows if that is true or not!
The bare minimum of detail was published regarding an execution being carried out, and hair colouring certainly did not come into it!
I thought it a good puzzle today, but less difficult than yesterday's.
I prefer a trickier one!

Yes, had a good chat with my son, with one eye on the snooker!
No photos, but his favourite place was the Rockefeller Center.
He told me there are only fourteen tables at Tiffany's and you have to book ahead.
Miss O booked at one minute past midnight, some time ago, and secured a table.
He loved walking along Broadway and said JFK Airport is far better than Orlando International.
(I discovered that Hartsfield-Jackson Airport at Atlanta, is the world's busiest airport.)
And they loved Central Park!
I have not spoken to the girls yet.
They enjoyed the birthday tea yesterday!
