Hi, Rusty!
No, I haven't finished the crossword....
I am about two thirds the way through - going back to it, in between having dinner, and watching Eggheads...
But I am giving up!
It is too difficult for me.......and I am not enjoying it.
It is time to draw the proverbial line under it.
Back to my book...….
It sounds very windy up your way...are you getting a storm?

Hello, Elle!
I agree, no point in going on with your puzzle if it is not enjoyable.
It is quite windy here, but not gale force winds, though they may come.
There were restrictions on the bridge earlier, but none now, so that is a positive sign.
Nicola was in town today working with the young ones!

I am recording "Treasures of the British Library" just now.
Will watch tomorrow sometime.
Miss O and me are going to Pine Cone in the morning!

Hi, Rusty!
Yes, you were saying earlier that Nicola Benedetti did a lot of work with children.
The article is very interesting and certainly shows how devoted she is to working with the young musicians in Dundee.
Who is taking part in "Treasures of the British Library" tonight?
Is Miss O on school half term then, if you and she are going to the Pine Cone tomorrow morning?
It sounds about right, as Scottish schools went back mid- August thereabouts, didn't they?
Half term here is not until October 22nd.

Hello, Elle!
Yes, Nicola spends a lot of time with the young ones.
I think it is great that she does so.
A genuine down to earth star!
Tonight's guest is actor Jim Carter.
He was in "Downton Abbey", I believe.
I think he started out in a circus school?
So there may something in the Library about circuses?
Anyway this is the last in the series.
Miss O is off for two weeks.
She goes to New York with her family on Friday.

HI, Rusty!
I'm afraid that I do not know Jim Carter?
I have never watched Downton Abbey.
I wonder what Jim Carter did in the circus?
It sounds as though your programme might be interesting - and certainly unusual.
i wonder what artefacts he will ask to see......
Miss O is lucky to get two weeks holiday.
The State schools here only have a week's holiday for half term, although private schools usually get a fortnight.
They are all going away for Miss L-B's birthday, aren't they?
That is a nice treat!

Hello, Elle!
I don't know Jim Carter, too!
And I have not watched Downton Abbey but I think it was quite popular.
I will tell you tomorrow about Jim's choices.
The two weeks holiday here used to be called the "tattie holidays".
The schools closed and many of us went picking tatties on the farms just outside town.
It was hard work and sore on the back!
Yes, it is a trip for La Bamba's birthday next week.
There is a lot of walking in New York apparently!

Update, Elle!
This may give you a flavour of Jim's trip to the British Library and what he chose to see.

Hi, Rusty!
I'll look forward to hearing about Jim Carter and his visit to the British Library.
I've only paid a very brief visit to New York, when our eldest grandson was born there.
We had hoped to do a bit of sightseeing whilst there...in particular, I'd intended to go to some of the Art Galleries.
But our daughter was taken ill just after our arrival, and was rushed back into hospital, and we were left literally "holding the baby"!
Fortunately , our daughter recovered fully within a few days... and meantime we coped well with baby!
But we only managed a visit to one art gallery in the ten days we were there.....
And that was to MoMA.
And we have never been back......because, of course, they later returned to live in the UK.

Good morning, Elle!
Seems to be a fine start to the day outside.
We have a rain warning in place for Saturday!
I'll ask Miss O today, about all the walking in New York.
I'm intrigued!
I know they have lots of New York info downloaded on their 'phones.
I looked up MoMA!
I had not heard of it before.
