Hi, Rusty!
I am not sure whether you will be back home yet?
I hope your outing went well?
Was the cafe busy?
Yes, I finished the Everyman successfully, thank you! - all clues parsed!
I also attempted the ST Cryptic..... I have answers for everything, but five parses still to do!
i have put it on one side for now....inspiration is at a very low level!
Now guess what?
I totally forgot about the Great North Run this morning!
Did you watch any of it, before you went out?
I have just checked, and the Highlights are on later., so I shall set the recorder for that.
We are going out shortly...but will be back by teatime.

Hello, Elle!
Just Miss O and me at Pine Cone today.
Had a nice time!
Miss O was telling me that her Gran won first prize in a painting competition, at the Festival last week.
It was a seascape featuring a sea stack.
She also entered a knitting competition and the Dundee cake competition.
A talented Gran!
I saw little of the Great North Run.
An interview with Brendan Foster, and Olly Murs running.
Olly did very well and comes across as a very friendly lad.
Mind you, I did not know who he was until Gabby Logan told us!

Hi, Rusty!
Back home again!
We went to Lloyd Park; a very large park, unpathed (if there is such a word?), over Croydon way.....
So no trucks, bikes , skateboards etc......just a lot of fields and a wood.
Great for the dog!
What a surprising weather transformation since this morning...... it is now somewhat hot!
Temperatures in the mid-twenties......no coat nor cardi needed.
I hope this is not the forerunner of another heatwave...….
I was happy with the colder weather!
My friend in Calgary tells me she is having snow!
Good for Miss O's gran - a very versatile lady.
I can neither paint nor knit.....and if you are wise, you probably wouldn't eat my cakes either!
Olly Murs was one of the coaches in the last series of "The Voice: UK"!

Hello, Elle!
I had a wee look at Lloyd Park.
It looks a fine place!
Been a fine day here, too.
Yes, I remember you speaking of Olly.
My favourite news reader, Sophie Raworth, was running, too.
But I missed her!
Now athletics!
This is a clip (if it works!) of the two most excitable commentators you will ever hear.
The winner "came from the depths of Hell!"

Hi, Rusty!
I have just been watching the Highlights of the Great North Run.
I find it really awe- inspiring to hear some of the reasons that have prompted "ordinary" people to take part.
Good for them!
Yes, I saw Olly Murs with his sister.
He came over as a very nice genuine person, when he was a judge and coach in "The Voice".
And I saw Sophia Raworth, too!
Although I didn't know who she was until it was explained.
Good to see Mo win again!
That clip that you sent was hysterical!
Never before have I heard so excited a commentary!
I think the more usual expression is "came like a bat out of hell"!
And phew! She did, too!

Hello, Elle!
Yes, I agree, some amazing folk doing the GNR for some wonderful causes.
I liked Olly, he was new to me.
Now, Sophie is a bit special.
She has run 6 marathons in 5 days in some event, I forget what is called, but it was in the desert.
And I think she does London Marathon every year.
And she's my favourite news reader!
That was a great clip!
The winner, "from the depths of Hell", was superb, as were the commentators.
It would have to be in Ireland, now, wouldn't it!

Hi, Rusty!
I have been talking to my cousin for the past hour.
All is well up there.
Her grandchildren were back to school this week.
They are both a little older than are my eldest, and are at secondary school now.
Now......I am trying to persuade my husband we should go to Ikea tomorrow!
We need an extra wardrobe, and there is the perfect space for it on our landing......
I have taken the measurements.....
All we have to do is go out and find a suitably sized wardrobe........
But he hates shopping!
Perhaps if I bribe him with the prospect of lunch out....?

Hello, Elle!
Glad to hear your cousin and family are fine!
I think your husband and me would get on fine, I am not a fan of shopping, too, (except for ASDA)!
But, living on my own, I have to do it.
I had a large wardrobe which I took to the skip about a year ago.
I replaced it with a single wardrobe from Argos, and it is much better, and lighter, and more modern looking.
