Hello Rusty!
I haven't seen many of the stages so far ( work commitments etc etc!) nor even the highlights. My brother, also a keen cyclist, has copied some of the stages so far onto dvd for me (the cobbles were excellent viewing with Nibali constantly attacking but unable to make any time) but by the time I've watched them I'm a couple of days behind! Looking forward to todays Tourmalet climb (which I'll see on Saturday!) think this will be the one that will give us the best idea who the overall winner will be!
Hi Pigale! Yes, there could be an element of the other riders (my fingers are crossed for Contador!) pacing themselves to reserve energy, but from what I've heard about yesterdays stage there was no-one able to keep up with Froome!
Barring accidents or Acts of God (!) he's looking more like the winner with every stage!

Hi Therogue,

I agree with you regarding C.Froome - If he makes it today, (or even second), I reckon he is likely to be THE winner.

I give him my support, but I would like to some other riders involved if only to keep some interest going in the race !

As to the French riders, well you probably have an idea of what I think about them in my comments to Rusty yesterday !

Is it not possible to listen to the last ten last Kms on radio ? (Radio Monte Carlo do a live coverage - OK it's in French and they speak at quite a speed, but it would give you an idea on the day itself).

Alas, pigale, I work in a shop (Leicestershire Air Ambulance) so no radios are allowed. I can use their computer - but on a limited basis!
Yes, would love to see more competition from the other riders, think it will be quite a battle for 2nd and 3rd places.
Must log off for now. Enjoy your afternoon!

Hi Rusty !

What heat on that Tourmalet day ! And to think tomorrow will be the same if not hotter - on another monster day.

Well done R. Majka (he likes the heat apparently), and pleased for Tinkoff-Saxo.

Another bonus too : Voeckler has decided to join the race in earnest ! 5th place, that's not too bad I guess, but he'll have to go some if he wants to catch up - and so will Contador.

Another eagle today, did you see it?

Hello, Doglet!
It's a good job you told me - I hadn't realised - this will be the tenth Diamond League, now, won't it?
I've just had a look in the TV guide and have marked it off - so hopefully I will now remember!
And guess what? there are three hours of the second day of the Davis Cup to follow! All on BBC2
So a good afternoon's viewing!
but I can't find if the FIRST day of the Davis Cup is shown anywhere? it's certainly not on BBC2 because that is golf coverage.

Hello Pigale

My apologies for my absence. I thought that the cricket part of this thread had stopped - or had been swamped by cycling!
I am glad you have the tea towel. It really is funny and I can imagine that a French version would be even funnier, particularly if the rules were spoken and the speaker maintained a 'straight' face!
I have not ordered a towel but I have given several hints to my wife that a new one is wanted but the best I can hope for is a present from Papa Noel!
The 2nd Test match, at the HQ of cricket (Lords) starts tomorrow. I have some friends who are going but I can't join them. Boo hoo!

Hi Kenyatta
I am looking forward to todays match but not too hopeful as Australia seem to making waves according to the press, will have to listen to the radio commentary as will be travelling, but that will remind me of the time before TV.I dont really care for Mr Boycott but will ignore him
