Good morning, Elle!
A change in the weather here!
We had rain and lightning last night and the rain is fairly heavy just now.
So, I am going to get wet walking to ASDA later and I do not mind at all!
No plans for Pine Cone, but the girls may.
I'll leave it to them.

Good morning, Rusty!
A glorious day here - blue skies and sunshine, but deliciously COOL!
We too had heavy rain last night......with a very pleasant aftermath!
A most enjoyable invigorating walk this morning!
Maximum temp only to reach 22C today!
My daughter has texted, though, to say it is raining heavily in Clacton.......and the wedding had been planned for outside!
Still, I am sure the hotel will have contingency plans......and all will be 'saved'!
No plans for us today other than a visit to see to our daughter's cat later on.........
How about you?

Hello, Elle!
Nice and rainy here!
I did a bit of family "taxiing" earlier but am home for the day now.
Watching Le Tour.
The course for the time trial is very twisty and clunky.
Raining in France, too, so the riders will have to be careful.
Hope G and Dumoulin get round OK.
Good puzzle today, though at present, one parse escapes me.

Hi, Rusty!
Our next lot of rain is forecast for all day tomorrow!
And the temperature is said to remain lower until towards the end of next week, when it will reach the high twenties or over again.
I have completed the grid of the Cryptic puzzle...but three still to parse though!
I shall have to put them on hold for a while, as we are off now to visit my daughter's cat!
We shall spend a couple of hours there, feeding him and keeping him company...... And then head home again.
Yes, fingers crossed for no cycling "spills"!

Good afternoon, Elle!
Hope you and the cat get on fine!
The rain has stopped here.
I was out for a wee walk and the air is very nice and pleasant.
And when I came in I went a-hunting and discovered that there is a name for the fresh smell that occurs after rain.
"Petrichor"!
I have not came across it before.
I have 19d to parse (if I have it correct!)
I almost can parse it, but not quite!
The roads have dried out in France for the time trial.
Hope it stays like that for G and Tom Dumoulin.

Rusty, in 19 D, the 'salt' is literal, nothing to do with sailors, and then the oft-used 'back' in 'back in fast' goes inside. The definition seems to be just 'food'.

On a recent thread, there's a fuller (better!) explanation - mine worked as far as it went...
