Hi, Rusty!
Yes, I believe that Thursday is meant to be hotter still....... it threatened 34C across the front page of the Metro this morning!
I think we are talking about different Peter Robinsons!
But then of course, you knew that....... and were but teasing me!
This is not the Norn Iron politician about whom I am speaking, but the English -Canadian crime -writer, who writes novels set in the Yorkshire Dales, featuring Chief Inspector Alan Banks.
As I said, an entertaining read........
I am sorry you have the need to go to a funeral tomorrow.
Is it that of a relative..... or a friend?
Sadly , this is something that we find ourselves doing all too often these days.
( Time was, it was a wedding or a christening that we attended! )
I agree with you that what you wear is not important - save that one be neat and tidy.
It is one's presence there, showing both respect to the dead...and support for the survivors.......that counts.
That is a terrible shame about the death of the osprey chick when being ringed.......
Do you know what happened?
Did it die from shock? or was it injured in the process?

Hello, Elle!
You are too cute for me!
It was indeed the ex First Minister of Norn Iron I was meaning!
I have no idea what he is doing these days.
I do not know your Peter, the writer.
It is my ex sister-in-law's funeral tomorrow.
My son is going with me.
I shall try and look half decent, but there have been many funerals I have been to, with many mourners in working clothes, straight from building sites etc to pay their last respects.
Often I was in working clothes too, taking an hour or so away from work to attend.
This is what happened to the young osprey.

Hi, Rusty!
I am very sorry about your (ex) sister-in-law......
I am sure you will look fine tomorrow.
As you say, the important thing is to be there.
And it is good that your son is going to be with you.
He is always very supportive.
My daughter phoned to say that BB is not very well....
I think it is just the heat...but he is feeling, and being, sick....
This is the first day of the long school holidays, and luckily his dad is also at home, being a teacher.
I do hope he will be better soon, as they are supposedly going away for a long weekend on Thursday, to a family wedding up in Clacton.
My son-in-law's brother is getting married to his long time partner.
Oh dear.....the best laid plans of mice and men......
What a tragic end for the baby bird!
How very sad.

Hello, Elle!
Been heavy rain here!
Yes, my son is supportive and excellent company.
Yes, hope BB picks up.
Where is Clacton?
A shame for the wee osprey.
The ringers are experts, too.
Strange how it happened.

I can imagine how bad the osprey ringers feel.
Also hope BB is better soon, elle

Hello, Rosalind.
Yes, very pleased with the downpour!
I agree about the ringers.
Must feel awful.
Poor wee bird.

Hi, Rusty!
Oh dear...I fell asleep......
I just woke up to find my book on the floor...!
Wow.......heavy rain........am I envious!
It is terribly oppressive still, here....
You are very lucky!
Clacton - on - Sea, to give it its full title, is somewhere on the Essex coast, I believe?
I have never been there!
Yes..... thank you....I too hope BB recovers quickly ......both for his own sake and so that they do not miss the wedding!
I would be happy though to have him stay with us if he were not fit to travel...but there is time yet...
You know youngsters, he could be right as rain tomorrow!
(Oops! perhaps not the very best idiom for me to choose......under the very dry circumstances!!)

Hello, Ros!
I think we are all gasping for rain.....!
Yes, BB has rotten timing, bless him.......but plenty of time hopefully to pick up before the wedding!

Good morning, Elle!
Fine day here.
Our rain did not last too long, I'm afraid!
I think I have heard of Clacton.
Is it a popular holiday destination?
I have several things to do today apart from attending a funeral.
But, I seem to be organised, so I shall crack on!

A Very Good morning to you, Rusty!
I went out very early, to "beat the heat"!
A pleasant walk, with both dog and I being reasonably energetic.
Yes, Clacton -on - Sea is a holiday resort, but I know nothing whatsoever about it!
I am going to have my hair cut this morning....leaving very shortly.
I should be back about lunch time.
What time is the funeral?
I hope all goes well......

Hi, Rusty!
I am not sure whether you will be back home yet or not.....?
I was much later home than expected myself... a few errands we decided to do on the way.
I hope your day has gone as well as can be unexpected under the circumstances.
The freshness of the early morning here soon disappeared, and it is now incredibly hot!
And unfortunately, my poor daughter has followed in BB's footsteps..... and now she is ill today!
Oh dear!
Well, perhaps they will all get the bug - for such it seems - over with quickly, and still be fit for the weekend celebrations.
Fingers crossed......
We can but hope!
