Hi, Rusty!
I am finally home again......
The hairdresser was busy this morning...it took longer than usual to get out!
I am suitably shorn - by which I mean I have lost about one inch!
My hair is what I think is called mid-length.... being just on my shoulders.
The Times coming up with an article on Amazon Prime TV is a tad spooky, coming right after our discussion about such?
Well, I 'd certainly warn anyone away from EuroSport Player after last year's national - international? - debacle!
(Sorry, cannot do the relevant accents!)
Has your parcel arrived yet?
I like those delivery companies who give an hour's time slot ....like DPD does.
Brilliant, as then one can plan around it.
Right...first a nice cool drink...maybe a yoghurt...or ice-cream.......
Then a look at the crosswords.....
Have you done your puzzle yet?

Those dragonflies will have died by mid-august, JG, but there may be others or you could look for the nymphs (if allowed), which are fiercesome! Have the lakes been allowed to grow some vegetation?
like Holly Blues and Speckled Woods are apparently the only butterfly to be increasing right now.

hi Ros
Yes, the dragons and damsels will be gone by then , but the two lakes and environs have plenty to offer for birdwatchers ( like me) waterfowl and other wildlife. It will be a pleasant stroll.
Two Gatekeepers on the Lavender here earlier

Hello, Elle!
The hairdressers will be busy with folk getting shorn in an attempt to cool down a bit!
Yes, my parcel has landed, via Royal Mail.
Very efficient I thought.
Yes, my puzzle is completed.
15d took me a wee while to fathom as it is not a word I'd be using, but that's perfectly acceptable.
And 19d is a new word to me.
A good puzzle, I think!

PS Ros
Brown Hawker dragonflies have been seen in September at L.Lakes.

Yes, there should still be some dragonflies about and I hope some interesting birds for you. Haven't seen a gatekeeper this year but there were two damsels in tandem in the conservatory just now. They escaped before I could get a proper look.

Hi, Rusty!
I am hard put to remain awake!
I think the combination of today's warmth together with last night's lack of sleep may well prove to be my undoing, should I sit down comfortably for any length of time!
A cold drink ...an apple and orange.....and a seat on the sofa, nearly saw me in the Land of Nod!
Since then, I have been doing the crossword , but sitting on the swivel chair at the computer, in order to stay alert!!
Yes, a good crossword!
I liked "adieu" and "quagga" .
I too didn't know "vibist", but it was easy enough to answer.
I looked for it in Chambers, though, but couldn't find it?
Although Collins tells me that it "someone who plays the vibraphone"?
Had I been asked...I would have gone with "vibraphonist"!
Re 15d...don't you eat nectarines? I love them! We have some in our fruit bowl at the moment!
I like them better than peaches, as I don't like the furry skin on the peaches!
Are you planning on going out, now that your parcel has arrived?
Or is it too hot?

Hello, Pigale!
How are you making out in the heat?
This is the time, I think, to be besides the sea.... a nice cooling, refreshing, sea breeze would be lovely!
I can envisage miles upon miles of sandy beach...and walking with the dog along - or even in - the edge of the waves........
Well, one can but dream!

Elle, Vibist is in my Chambers - it's under Vibes. Of course, your edition might be different!

I didn't look under "vibes", Malone...….
I had no reason to do so at that point...I didn't know what the word meant!

I tried vib i st!

There were so few 'vib...' words, Elle, that I was happy to explore. I've discovered many things on my wanderings, but I tend not to remember them all!
