I emailed Ash at 17.25 as I had a feeling Norah was probably dealing with personal life. The spam disappeared within 7 minutes, so I dont know if he had acted, or whether Norah was able to do it. Just thankful it is gone .

I decided to stay well out of the way whilst everyone was going on about the scamming situation!
I am sure that both Ash and Norah are well aware of the Spam problems and are doing their best to deal with the matter.
This is a happy "family" orientated Forum.......I do not think we need "monitors".
I haven't had the time today to complete my crossword!
I am about halfway through.....
But for 7d, I have "Dieu et Mon Droit" - God and my Right.
This is the motto of the Royal family...adopted by Henry V, referring to his claim by descent to the French throne.
I do not think it a cryptic clue though?
Re the park......I shan't be there tomorrow...the poor dog has an appointment with the vet to have her teeth cleaned!

I have an open mind regarding mods or monitors.
I think it would be very tying, though.
I certainly would not be interested on any site I visit.
I think the vast majority agree that the spammers are pests, though.
7d is a throwback to The Times puzzles of 50/60 years ago.
You either know it or you don't.

I agree with the fact that spammers are pests, but it is only on
some occasions that they become as overwhelming as they did
today!
When Norah is not too busy, she deals with them pretty quickly
and surely we can normally deal with them by 'bumping'.
I am sure Ash and Norah are well aware of the inconvenience, which
is putting the popularity of this Forum at risk, so I do not think
it would be in their favour not to do anything about it. There may
well be difficulties to deal with prior to them being able to rid
the Forum of spammers.
But for all that, I remain firmly opposed to any kind of monitors,
spam-zappers and the like. As you have said Elle, this is almost
a family Forum, we don't need policing other than by its creators!

I have an open mind about monitors.
On some sites they are needed.
Norah is usually quick to deal with the spam, though.

I have come across another new word for me...."tatterdemalion", apparently meaning a ragged person?
I shall have to air my increasingly new vocabulary on my morning walks!

I don't know what I have been doing today.........I am behind with just about everything......

Yes, I fully agree with your views on the spamming and the way to deal with it.
As I mentioned earlier, I am sure it is definitely best left in Norah's and Ash's capable hands.
This is a friendly site......we do not need "monitoring".
Have your friends arrived safely ?
I know you are not meeting up with them until tomorrow , but I thought they would probably confirm their safe arrival?

Well, I have just had a short zizz!
And so still haven't got around to watching the "Eggheads"!
I had a quick look in on the ospreys...and the Rangers have predicted on their blog that ,taking into account the constant incubation of the eggs by Lassie and Laddie, the first egg will hatch on the 21st of May in the morning, the second on the 22nd of May in the morning and the third on the 25th of May in the afternoon.
It will be exciting to see if this holds good!
