Indeed Rusty, and even if weeks ago was not possible because
of the bad weather conditions, it should still have been done
months ago, before the bad weather spell! There were a lot of
decent days between New Year and now!

Still, we'll see tonight, but let's hope Laddie does not decide to
arrive today!

Hi, Rusty!
That is encouraging news about the Manton Bay osprey arriving safely!
(Rutland is not far from where my daughter's in-laws live)
Perhaps Laddie will be with us soon......although hopefully not today whilst the engineers are on the job.
I have finished the crossword.
I thought it a relatively easy one today?
What did you think?
"Tiffany" is a new word for me, although it was easy enough to get the answer from the clue.
And I couldn't parse 17d?
Otherwise, all "done and dusted".

Hello, Pigale!
Your mention of snow made me check our own local forecast.
Strangely enough, we too are predicted snow on Sunday!
It does say "light", so here's hoping it will be only a brief flurry!
I had hoped all that was behind us.

Hello, Elle!
Laddie won't be far away!
I was quite a good puzzle today.
I had heard of Breakfast at Tiffany's but did not know it as a fabric.
Think it can be a girl's name, too.
17,
This writer is, "I'm", store is "mine", books are "NT".
My pick, Getabird, didn't trouble the judge at Cheltenham!

Hi, Rusty!
Oh good, I'm glad you thought the puzzle okay.........
I was worried you would say it was too easy........and just when for once I'd done it all!
Now 17d......
I am confused ...
I had imminent = due out soon (def)
NT - books
But I thought that "mine" was "this writer's"?
I cannot see how "I'm" is the same as "the writer's"?
Unless you just discount the possessive "s"?
I can however see that "mine" could mean "store" when used as a "mine/ store of information"...maybe?
I'm not happy with it!
Poor Getabird!
Did you back any other horses?

Hello, Elle!
My take on 17d!
"I am" means the same as "this writer is".
"I" and "writer" being the setter.
The setter has persuaded me, but maybe you do not think so much of it.
Just the way it goes in puzzles, at times.
I do not know what possessive "s" means.
Getabird ran a very good race.
He kept them honest until the last 2 furlongs, then seemed to run out of puff.
One more horse today.
Apples Jade. I like her a lot.
Hope she runs well!

Hi, Rusty!
You remember our Thames Water Rep, who came to inspect the newly installed water meter..... discovered that there is a massive leak..... and tried to tell us of various ways of saving money by using our appliances differently?
We have had a "report".... now apparently, if I use my washing -machine at temperatures at which I DO NOT WANT to wash my clothes/ bedding / towels / whatever/ I shall save £8 per YEAR!
Uhm....
The World is going mad.......
I hope Apples Jade does well!
We are away to the tip to recycle some things .......and to dump some other stuff!

Hello Elle and Rusty,

The camera is back working - though I am not sure I like the angle
they have chosen - perhaps they will move it later?
Still no sound, but we'll see tonight if ultra red camera is on too!

The boat I spotted at 1104 may have been the engineers' canoe on their way to the camera

Hello, Elle!
Apple's Jade did not run well!
£8 a year is not a great saving is it?
Hope you get on fine at the tip!

Hello, Pigale!
I prefer a slightly wider view of the nest with a bit of the loch, too!
Yes, I hope the infra red is on later.
Jazzgirl has posted a blog update from Emma.
Have a read!

Hello Jazzgirl,
Thanks for the update!
I have never seen a boat/canoe on the loch, so I'd say you were correct in thinking it was the engineering team aboard.
Now, we just need the sound fixed according to Emma.
They are cutting it fine with the first osprey already at Manton Bay!
