Hello, Elle!
Yes, Angie Watson is way over 6 feet.
I know almost nothing about Garibaldi!
Was there a shirt named after him? A red one?
I know about the biscuit!
Now, I know quite a bit about Marie Antoinette but have never heard of her hair turning white overnight.
Is that possible?
I know she apologised to her executioner for accidently standing on his foot just seconds before she was guillotined.
That is well documented.
I am being collected at 11!
If folk want to use Facebook that's fine with me, but I want no part of it!
I do use Twitter, though!

Good morning, Rusty!
It is another beautiful day!
We are just home from our walk.
We walked about four miles..........
Garibaldi's followers were called "Redshirts" - and yes. you are quite right, there was a ladies' red woollen shirt named after him; that was the forerunner of the blouse in women's fashions.
I like Garibaldi (aka dead fly) biscuits!
I am about to make coffee, eat my apple and cheese, and attempt the Everyman.....
Hopefully, you will see this before you go out....
i hope you have a good time!

Good morning, Elle!
So...I was right about the red shirts?
I wonder how that got in my head?
I shall rest on my laurels for the rest of the day!
I think I may find out a bit more about Garibaldi.
Will see what's on YouTube about him.
I am almost ready for collection by La Bamba.
Good luck with Everyman, and stay away from Facebook!

Hi, Rusty!
I am not sure whether or not you will be home yet?
I hope you had a good chat and enjoyed your breakfast/ brunch?
Did you have a bacon roll- or did you branch out and try something different again?
I am thinking of maybe a yoghurt for lunch?
Or perhaps some soup...?
The Everyman is done...with a doubtful parsing, but I am working on that one!
I have the Sunday paper here...so may do one of those puzzles.
I am waiting for my daughter .......

Good evening, Rusty!
Our lovely day has continued throughout!
We have indeed been fortunate....but I think all this good weather will end soon, as rain seems to be forecast for much of this coming week.
Your ham and cheese omelette sounds good!
We have had a great family day!
It is good for us all to spend time together.
Great fun - if a tad shattering!
I am now about to phone my cousin for our weekly chat!

Hi, Rusty!
I am sorry about your rain.
Ours is due to start at 8am in the morning - I could do without that, when walking the dog!
No, the family is long gone!
They usually leave by 6 o'clock at the latest , so that the children can be in bed by 7.30 pm.
And it's school again tomorrow!
Half term is finished now.
Have you been watching the Olympics today?
Anything of note to report?
I have not had the TV on at all today - so not even heard any News!

Hello, Elle!
I watched a bit of the Olympic Games.
The curling, mainly.
Team GB women got beat from Sweden.
They will have to up their game with Canada still to play.
There was a controversial incident with the last GB stone being penalised, but it looked OK on the replay.
I do not think it affected the outcome though, as the Swedes had the hammer in the final end.
My TV is often off all day, and when it is on, I have it on mute.
Just watching the golf.
Hope Bubba makes it!

Hi, Rusty!
I have belatedly been catching up with the News......
Did you see that a Russian medallist, Alexander Krushelnytsky , has been caught out by a preliminary doping test?
He may now lose his Olympic medal ( a Bronze for Curling) - and rightly so , if he is found guilty.
I would have thought that the " non-flag carrying, cannot win medals for their country" Russians would have been ultra- careful and would have stayed well away from prohibited drugs......especially under the circumstances ?
The drug in question is apparently "meldonium", the drug that Maris was penalised for using,
Russia is never going to escape the slur the country is rightly under if this continues.
This is also a blight on such Russians as may hopefully be genuinely "clean",
