Elle, in 14 D the 'each' comes from 'a pop' (50 pence a pop).

Which appears to be avoiding blame?
5d, is a good one.
Anagram of "girth to me" is "Tiger Moth".
A "woolly bear", I think, is a caterpillar of that species.
20, "reheels", woman brought up is "her/reh", the slippers are "eels".
14, took me ages to parse.
"Not keen on a pop", is "Off each"
"A pop" means each. With "nb" in the middle.

To me, "Teflon" is something that coats a non- stick frying pan!
I would never have got that clue!
But yes, you are of course right....there is a double meaning!
I wondered about "Tiger Moth" from my crossers......but didn't see the anagram, and couldn't understand the "woolly bear" reference, so discounted it.
I've never heard of "a pop" meaning "each"?
Having " a pop" at something means "having a go".........?
