Hi, Rusty!
I have never heard the word "diapason"?
This is completely new to me!
And I also do not know of " Herbert Beerbohm Tree".......
So I was never going to get either of those clues.
Thank you for helping me!
I should have got "Essene" though!
I shall kick myself with the un-wonky toe!!
Any more news from your relatives/ friends in Donegal and Norn Iron?

Hello, Elle!
Your dictionary must be wrong, Elle.
In my humble opinion!
Now, I have seen "diapason" before, but had no idea what it meant.
So, when I saw it fitted, I looked up Chambers and it was a fit.
Anne Bradford has it under "stop", too.
Old Herbert Barebum Tree was a very well known actor in the distant past.
He was Oliver Reed's grandfather, too.
"Essene", I recognised, but was not at all sure what it meant.
There are power cuts in Donegal, and one friend in Comber has lost power.

It is quite windy here but it will get worse in a couple of hours.

I am interested in how you pronounce turmeric, rusty - the first syllable is pretty much exactly the same as "term" for me....

These homophones always cause debate, Chris!
The "u" sound in "turm", would be as I would pronounce the "u" sound in "rugby", say, or "bum", or "drum", "thumb" etc.

Hi, Rusty!
Now Oliver Reed, I do know!
Our local weather forecast for the next few days seems to have changed, after this afternoon's strange happenings.......
We are no longer supposedly having strong winds/ gales, but just very heavy rain, within the next few days.....
Today's winds have died out and all seems calm now.
We did batten down everything remotely moveable, but there no longer seems any need.
I wonder if my husband's photographs will come out?
It is Miss L-Bs birthday tomorrow, isn't it?
Does she have any plans to celebrate?

Hello, Elle!
I think your forecast is probably correct as Ophelia has moved a bit to the West.
The wind is rising here.
And....apparently there is another storm out in the Atlantic due to arrive here towards the end of the week!

Miss O just came back in good time1
I do not know what TexMex food is?
Leastways, I don't think I do? unless it goes by any other name?

Hello, Elle!
TexMex as far as I gather, is Mexican food with a Texas twist, if that makes any sense?
I have never had any, but I have heard of burritos and nachos and they may be TexMex?
All my family who have been to America like the American food.
So, that will be the attraction tomorrow.
I would imagine La Bamba chose the venue.
