Hi, Rusty!
I guess I can just wait and see what happens.....it shouldn't really be a problem as I do have the records, even if no confirming email?
No, I have never used Paypal?
I do not know what it is?
Usually I have vouchers/ money already paid into my Account , so do not have to make a payment when purchasing.
But if I did, I would pay by Visa.
I haven't noticed varying p&p charges?
When I was buying those two books - for 1p each - the package and postage was all set at £2-80.
The date given for arrival was 5-9 August.

Well I inadvertently paid a bill on pay pal with a long defunct CC and I only realised when I pressed the button

Anyway, not only was the account miraculously resurrected but sure enough there was the payment.

I couldn't even access it online to pay the bill because, yes the account was closed. To add
Insult to injury I forgot to pay it was a day late and they charged me £2.36. That will now be going on forever as they will charge interest of about 10p per month from here to eternities

Hello, Elle!
I was forgetting you had credit in your account.
PayPal is a payment system linked to your bank.
I find it simplifies things.
Many sellers on eBay insist PayPal only.
It used to be owned by eBay but is independent of them now.
But if you do not use it, that's fine.
Well, I only noticed varying charges in the last two days, so it must be fairly new.
I often use eBay because they can be cheaper, even from the same supplier!
Your arrival dates seem reasonable?

Hi, Rusty!
Yes, the arrival dates sound fine , don't they?
I am buying from World of Books, whom I find most reliable.
Still no emails from Amazon though.
I have been making arrangements with my daughter for tomorrow!
We are all going to the local Toby Carvery for lunch......and then afterwards they will come back here for a time.
It should be good.

Hello, Elle!
Yes, World of Books are the biggest second hand book seller in the UK and I have found them to be very reliable.
(They started out with books from a car boot sale.)
Think I may have recommended them to you?
So, who sent you the arrival dates?
Would that not be Amazon?
You should have a good time with your daughter and family tomorrow!
Is your toe wonderful, now?

Hey, Rusty!
Yes, it was you who first told me about buying used books for 1p.......and yes, you also told me about WoB!
I think you recommended them, because you thought that they packaged their books extremely well?
As they do!
In this instance, no one actually "sent" me arrival dates......
( They normally arrive with the confirmation emails, from Amazon)
Instead, I checked the data in my "Orders" section, and found them in there, together with the order numbers.
So I do have all the relevant details - I cannot see there being a problem.
It is just odd that the emails never came.
I wouldn't call my toe wonderful.... but it is definitely improving!
I can now get shoes on - always an asset!

Hello, Elle!
Yes, I remember suggesting them now.
I have a list of favourite sellers, like Julie, and AlexTFD, but World of Books is my top favourite.
No, if you have the relevant info in your Orders, there will not be a problem.
I have several "Saved Searches" on eBay.
They send me emails everyday of items that interest me.
But then I noticed that they stopped arriving.
It was several weeks later I discovered they were going into my Spam folder!
All fine, now, though.
Could maybe be a similar glitch with your email?
Check your Spam?

Good morning, Rusty!
A damp morning...and then heavy rain forecast by midday!
The "missing" emails from Amazon have finally arrived in my Inbox this morning!
Both were "timed" as having been dispatched just before 5. 30 pm yesterday!
I wonder where they have been in the interim?
No matter.....they are here now......
Yes, I think WoB is my favourite 'used books' provider.
The condition of the books is always as described, but it is the good solid packaging that appeals to me.
One or two other book providers do not wrap their books well.
I have liked Julie's , Bahamut Media and Bookdonors, too.
Right, time for a coffee...and then to do a few jobs before going out for lunch!

Good afternoon, Elle!
Great weather here!
I think this happens with emails from time to time.
I do not think it would be Amazon.
It is a mystery where they have been.
I have had text messages turn up on my mobile 'phone that had been sent two weeks prior to me receiving them.
No idea why that should be.
