Hi, Rusty!
I have "found" my missing print-out of the notorious 500 words...it was supposed to be kept in the back of my dictionary..... it must have fallen out!
Yes, "sphairistike" IS among those "missing" words!
We have rain clouds......no blue sky like you!
But - thankfully - it is cooler!!!!
Tennis has resumed!
Novak won his match , three straight sets.
There are no matches of particular interest to me showing right now, so I am popping out for a while.
I have to post a birthday card to one of my grandsons.
He will be seven on Thursday!
You sound as though you are enjoying Le Tour!
I shall be interested to hear any info on the Caves later.

Good evening, Elle!
Glad you found the word!
It has been a fine day here.
I did enjoy today's stage, but the racing was not up to much.
The scenery was superb.
Liked all the old chateaux etc and the enthusiastic crowds.
Very little info on the caves.
There is much more on YouTube.
Guided tours etc
I think there was a family living in a nearby cave until a few years ago.

Hi, Rusty!
It is raining heavily here......and has been doing so on and off all day.....not as persistently as at Wimbledon though!
I could see the umbrellas up at Wimbledon while it was still dry here!
Did you see any of Jo's match?
It was an excellent one.......the tennis was of a very high standard.
Jo won eventually - I was sat on the edge of the sofa for most of it!
She is the first British female to make it through to the Semi-Finals for 39 years!
Since Virginia Wade....who was in the stands watching Jo play!
I am sorry that you found the cycling disappointing today, but it sounds as though you enjoyed the scenery.
A pity though that there wasn't much info given about the Caves, as the route passed that way.
We had curry for dinner......quite appropriate with the cooler weather!

Hello, Elle!
You have rain?
Fine here.
Yes, I was quite impressed with Jo!
I saw Virginia Wade.
She is Lester Piggott's double!
The cycling was a flat stage (same tomorrow) and apart from the final sprint, very little happens.
But the French countryside was superb!
I really enjoyed that part of it.
No, they would have needed a historian as a commentator for the caves.
Loads on YouTube, though.
I had fish pie for tea and it was very nice, too!

I think that Virginia Wade was approximately twice as tall as Lester Piggott!

Same face.
They could be twins!

Hi, Rusty!
You have had me looking up photographs of Lester Piggott to see if he does indeed look like Virginia Wade!
I must admit to seeing a marked resemblance on the pics that I compared!
Neither photo was flattering to its owner!
But then I don't think that Virginia Wade has aged well?
I have just received a text from my cousin's younger daughter.....
I am not sure if I told you that my cousin was having an operation on her (right) hand today?
All has gone well
She will remain in hospital overnight, but allowed home tomorrow.
That is a relief to hear!

Hello, Elle!
No, you did not tell me about the op.
Glad it was successful.
Yes, Virginia and Lester are alike!
I saw Lester at Royal Ascot and he was looking well.
I think Virginia looks well, too.
I am not too keen on John McEnroe as a commentator.
What do you think?

Hi, Rusty!
Oh, I like Mac as a commentator.
I think he does a very good job.
He follows the play closely, yet without being intrusive to the listener.
I like that!
Tim Henman is good, too.
But there are others who will comment on anything bar the tennis action!
I find that irritating.
I always look forward to McEnroe being in the commentary box!
I feel I'm getting good value.
I thought the crossword was a good one today?
I actually parsed everything without a problem!
(Was it an easy one?)

Hello, Elle,
I found the crossword a tad harder than usual.
I meant to check Chambers to see if "nay" meant "indeed", but got sidetracked admiring the Dordogne!
Maybe it is archaic?
Yes, I agree about Tim, but I do not take to McEnroe.
I like Kim Clijsters and Tracy Austin.
There are still cave dwellers in the Dordogne.
And hundreds of caves.
Very impressive!
