Hi, Rusty!
Yes, I have followed your instructions and have just watched the chick's first flight!
How lovely to see her soar forth with such confidence!
I am awaiting Roger's match.......the women are still playing on Centre Court at the moment.
I am keeping a weather eye on that match, and flicking over to watch Simon and Thiem play on Court One.
I shall need to think about dinner soon...it is too hot to eat much......maybe we shall just have a salad......
Oh, I forgot to ask, did you enjoy the trout?
Your son will be coming to see you shortly?

Hello, Ros!
Yes, I used to like Charles Dance, too, in his heyday!
I don't know the programme that you mention?

Hello, Elle!
Trout was excellent.
My favourite fish dish.
Yes, my son should appear shortly.
Was smashing seeing the chick take off.
Her confidence seems to have left her for she has not returned!
She is sitting on a branch on a nearby tree.
I have the Irish golf on.
It is good!

i saw CD in Coriolanus 4 times! I even took my sons to see it.

WDYTYA is about famiy history- they trace one person's tree along one or two lines to (usually) an interesting person or moment in history. It makes the whole process look easy but it is usually also fascinating. Some people cry (Ian Hislop for example), some end up related to royalty or whose ancestors fought in a famous battle, or were in the workhouse. Is there an actress called Anne Reid? She's the only one I turned off

Hi, Rusty!
I expect your son will still be with you......are you watching the golf together?
Or just relaxing and chatting?
I have finally switched off the television for the day......
I watched Roger win his match in three straight sets, despite a rather poor beginning on his part.
Then I watched part of Angelique Kerber's match, which she also won.
I haven't looked in on the DL in Lausanne.......I've missed a very big big chunk of it already because of the tennis schedule.......
I shall wait to watch the Highlights on BBC on Sunday.
Enough is enough for today!
Time to sit quietly and read one of the (second-hand) books I bought at BB's Summer Fair...........
The chick is back in the nest!

Rosalind,
Many years ago when Coronation Street first appeared, I think there was an actress called Anne Reid taking part, if my memory serves me rightly.

Anne Reid has recently been brilliant in the first two series of "Last Tango in Halifax", playing opposite Derek Jacobi.

(The least said about the third series, the better.)

Hello, Elle!
My son has just left.
He brought me stovies!
My TV went off around six.
I'll check YouTube later for Laura Muir's run.
Yes, I see the chick has returned and is doing vigorous wing stretching/flapping.
I agree about the reading.
I have a couple of books I have not started yet.

Chris, everything turns up on YouTube!

Hi, Rusty!
Stovies sound good!
Are they from your butcher who provides cooked meals?
You will be able to have them for dinner tomorrow.
I have finished my Jeffrey Archer book, and am now reading a detective/ murder story by Peter Robinson.
One of three books of his that I bought in an effort to support the School Fair.
Relatively light reading, but entertaining........ the genre makes a change once in a while.
What are the two books that you have "lined up" ready to read?
It is still extremely hot and humid here ...another bad night, I fear......

Hello, Elle,
Yes, the stovies are from the butcher my son goes to.
They do a good trade in take away meals.
My two books are, "When i Heard the Bell", and "Crowdie and Cream".
Just had a Tweet from Laura Muir.
She has ran a PB in Lausanne.
She broke 2.00 for the 800 metres for the first time, in an event which is too short for her.
She came fourth and is delighted!
Things are coming along nicely for her.
All back to normal at the loch!
