Hi, Rusty!
Yes, I think you are right.....the political situation is indeed in a mess......
"A drowning man will clutch at a straw"?
And "If you lie down with dogs, you get up with fleas" probably covers it well.
I think one needs to share basic views to have any sort of an alliance, be it an official one or otherwise.
The DUP are strongly against gay marriage.....I have friends of the same sex who have recently married. They are lovely people and very happy together.
How could I condemn that?
And also the DUP's attitude to abortion.........
Are we compromising our standards if we ally ourselves with a Party with whom many will not agree on basic morals/ principles?
I daresay I am naive in some of my views...and I know that Theresa May had a difficult decision to make ....but.......?
Did you have a good walk?
Dog and I have been out in the garden........

Hello, Elle,
The problem as I see it, is we have a very ineffective Prime Minister.
There was no need whatsoever for this election, none!
But, she called it, and is now crawling to the DUP to support her, because her lack of judgement almost brought her down.
How can she stoop so low as to jump into bed with the DUP?
Anybody but them.
I wonder if the Queen said anything to her about the result when she went to the Palace today?
"Well, Theresa, you made a right mess of the election you wanted, and here you are wanting to form another government!"
I think the Queen should have chased her!

Hi, Rusty!
On a happier and more cheerful and less controversial note....!
I have received a phone call from our elder daughter , who is proposing to come and visit us on Sunday!
She is coming down this way to meet up with a friend and will spend Saturday with said friend, and then Sunday with us.
That will be nice!
I have a bit of jiggling to do......but can rearrange a few things!
(We never get much notice!)
Right, I am away out with the dog........very briefly........rather late today........

Hello, Elle!
You can't beat a bit of controversy when discussing a "hot news" topic!
i am sure you will squeeze your daughter in at the table.
I am being collected by Miss La Bamba tomorrow.
The Pine Cone beckons!
Just the two of us!
I see Sir Andy got beaten in Paris!

Hello, Pigale!
Just wondering how you and your sore back are getting on?
Any signs of improvement?

Hi, Rusty!
It is a lovely evening - actually the best time of the day.
Beautiful out!
Yes, all sorted for Sunday...we have reorganised a few arrangements and shall be at home now at the time our daughter wishes to come!
So Andy lost to Stan Wawrinka...umm.....and Rafa looks set to beat Thiem....it should be a good Final on Sunday!
But it will be one more thing I shall have to record!
I also left a message for Pigale yesterday, wishing her well and enquiring how she is........
She didn't reply to that either.....but earlier she did tell us that it hurt her when sitting at the computer and typing........
So maybe she is being sensible and resting?
You and Miss L-B will enjoy your outing together tomorrow!

Hello, Elle!
I am sure Pigale is going along OK.
it is a fine evening here too.
I have no picture from the Loch.
You?
I watched a bit of Andy and Stan's game.
Two good players!
Yes, I am looking forward to seeing La Bamba tomorrow.
Did you purchase any more books from Amazon?

Hi, Rusty!
Well, my web picture of the ospreys is okay initially, in that I can see Lassie and the two chicks clearly for about a minute......then, as often happens, I get the opaque glass effect creeping over the picture.
It is weird!
The chicks are getting very big, aren't they? Has there been any mention of their gender, as yet?
No, Rusty, I have made no decisions as to what books to order next......
I am toying with investigating new books by favourite authors....which I should greatly enjoy reading, but which would prove expensive.......
Or going for "used" books, which have stood me in very good stead - and been good for my pocket!
I might browse at leisure over the weekend.
What are you reading at the moment?
Don't forget to try that book of Miss P's - A Shine of Rainbows" - that I recommended?
I think you would enjoy that.

Hello, Elle!
The chicks are on a very high protein diet, hence the growth rate.
Yes, my picture has returned.
I have not read anything lately.
I have earmarked several on Amazon about the hydro schemes up North, and the "tunnel tigers".
There were some great civil engineering achievements.
My family were involved in many of the jobs.
So, I've heard the stories since I was wee from my father and uncles, and now I'll read a book or two about what went on.
Be a nice change, I think.
