Hello, Elle!
Yes, I have chosen books which appeal to me!
No, you are not being dim, at all, at all!
You just have not heard of the "Marshall Plan."
George Marshall was the American with a plan to aid Europe, mainly Germany, after World War 2.
The Yanks invested billions to help rebuild the devastation across Europe.
The Americans wanted Europe to thrive and that way they would not be tempted towards communism.
You are much too young to remember!

Hello, Rosalind!
Yes, those are Beckwith titles.
And "The Loud Halo"
I read them many years ago, and decided to buy one or two again.
I have an idea there was ill feeling from some of the islanders in the way she portrayed some of them.
I think she moved to Yorkshire and she died there quite a few years ago.

Hello again, Elle,
14, the "being heard" bit.
Marshall sounds like marshal.

Hi, Rusty!
"Much too young to remember"?
Flattery will get you everywhere!
But very true, of course!
I have a dim memory of learning about it though, but didn't recall the name.
I have been watching "15 to 1".......recorded earlier...... but managed to fall asleep before the end!
I do this...then am wide awake for ages and end up going to bed very late....a vicious circle!
And of course I am always up early! but then I like getting up early and going out early too.
I think the early morning walk is one of the best times of the day!
We have no plans for the weekend.......daughter and family are going away to visit her best friend.
We need to go to Poll Hill Garden Centre, but May Day weekend is perhaps not the best time to go, as it will be crowded.
How about you?
Any plans?

Hello, Elle!
I'm too young to remember it. too.
i read it in a book!
Miss AOW is collecting me at 11 tomorrow.
My friends from Norn Iron are here for the weekend.
I am meeting them Sun or Mon.
Other than that, I have no plans.
There has been a bit of a row about young Issy.
Some magician says she has copied his tricks and he was auditioned before Issy and got four "Yes's" from the panel!
Always something up with that show!

Good morning, Rusty!
A lovely morning here - and very much warmer!
You have quite a lot organised for your weekend.
It should be good!
Are you and Miss ATW heading to the Pine Cone for a bacon roll?
That is a funny business about young Issy's act?
I checked it out on Goggle after you told me about it, and it seems that a magician who previously auditioned for the show says that Issy copied his tricks, and he is involving a lawyer to defend his "rights".
Oh dear!
It is hard to know what to believe?
Certainly the acts are obviously shown out of auditioning sequence.......you can tell that the show is "patched together" by what Alesha and Amanda are wearing!
There is certainly a lot of jiggery - pokery goes on, on BGT!
I distrust a lot of it, which rather spoils the show for me!

Good morning, Elle!
A bit cloudy up here.
Yes, Pine Cone today, I think, but Miss ATW is the driver and the boss!
The acts in BGT are not "live" yet.
I liked young Issy but we do not know what has happened in the background.
Could it be sour grapes from the other magician?
There is a children's choir on tonight.
Hope they are good!

Hi, Rusty!
According to the news article that I read, the complaining magician auditioned for the judging panel first (before Issy)........was enthusiastically acclaimed and got four "Yeses" from the judges!
But his act has not yet been shown....this is what I meant by the auditioning being shown out of sequence.
And if you take note....Alesha and Amanda often appear in different clothing and with different make-up, in apparently the same show!
So the acts are from separate recording occasions and are put together.
I cannot see how, now, this other magician's act , can be part of the BGT show?
If his act and that of Issy are so alike?
Plagiarsm sounds plausible- but from whom?
Maybe we shall learn more......?
Anyway......Miss ATW will be with you soon.... it is nearly 11am.......
Have a good time!
Enjoy your bacon roll!

Hello, Elle!
We went early to Pine Cone.
Miss ATW was finished early at the gym.
She had a Stornoway black pudding and fried egg roll.
I had a bacon roll.
Was very nice!
Well, regarding Issy and the other lad, we only know what he is saying, don't we?
Is any of it true?
Issy looked a very accomplished young magician to me.
I am off out for a dander.

Good afternoon, Rusty!
I am glad that you and Miss ATW enjoyed your outing to the Pine Cone!
How far afield did you go on your walk?
As you so rightly say, who knows who is telling the truth about BGT's escapades?
Maybe the answer is just to take what we see at face value....... and just enjoy it?
Never mind the pros and cons.....
I am done with intrigue!
Now, the crosswords!
I have finished the 15 x 15...but have about six yet to parse.... I am thinking on those......
Just about to have a coffee, then going out for a walk.
