Hi, Rusty!
That is strange then about the "15 to 1" competitor telling the show's host, Sandi Toksvig, that he used to ride in The Tour?
Maybe it was just an idle boast?
But how foolish if so, as there must be people who will know it is not true.
My great aunt - my Scots cousin's grandmother (a Lancastrian born and bred) - used to say "There's nowt so queer as folk!"
I think she was right!
Yes, I have read the blog....I have yet to see Laddie doing his spell of incubating.
It is always Lassie sitting on the nest whenever I look in.
Right, I am away now to my bed........

Good morning, Elle!
Lovely start to the day!
No, Andrew from Paisley is a mystery to me!
I have been online and completed the crossword.
You will be pleased to know there is a Shakespearean "reference" in one clue!
There is a nice "sunrise" photo of the loch.
Did you see it?

Rusty, I've been mulling over the 'Frequently possessed by tiger?' clue. Was the clue that had Tiger as the answer possibly 10 A or 10 D? Maybe it's just the setter linking the two together - Of 10/Often.

Hello, Malone,
Yes, I think that is what it was.
I just did it online, so I am guessing it was 10a or 10d.
I did not like the 1960 puzzle!

I didn't like the sound of the 1960 puzzle - far too erudite for me. Present day crosswords are also less dry, more playful at times.

Good morning, Rusty!
It is a lovely day here too - a tad chilly though and expected to feel cooler than yesterday.
A glorious morning for walking !
I am just back from the park.....
You were up and about early?
Especially to have completed your crossword by a quarter past seven!
I haven't looked at the crosswords yet....I shall look out for the Shakespeare clue!
Yes, I saw the sunrise photo - beautiful!
The webcam is out of order again though.........
We are resurrecting "Ladies Who Lunch" from today!
Although for the most part, there are only two of us left in the locality now.
I am looking forward to it!

Hello, Malone,
You and me both!
There were, I think, four clues which were from Shakespeare plays and a lack of humour throughout.
More like an exam than a puzzle for fun.
The Times editor at the time, took his setters to task, and told them to produce puzzles that the man/woman in the street could do, rather than one for academics.
The modern puzzles are much better!

Hello, Elle!
Yes, I was up and doing early today!
Standing at the front door of the RBS waiting on it opening!
Now the clue does not mention Shakespeare, but it will become apparent!
A lovely pic from the loch.
I liked the squirrel one too.
Enjoy your lunch with the lady!

Hi, Rusty!
Update.......
I have actually finished today's 15x15!
And in far less time than it took me to do yesterday's puzzle!
Yes, I found the Shakespeare clue - 9 across - quite a nice one!
The "Wind in the Willows" at 10a was a good one, too.
I also liked 3d and 21d.
And The Times QC seemed especially easy today!
My friend should be here very shortly, and then we are heading out.
I am looking forward to my lunch!
Talk later......

Hello, Elle!
You are becoming the "go to" girl for The Times cryptic!
Well done!
I did not know the "demon driver" but I got there!
21 was a good one!
I had "Hoo" in my head. The setter led me astray!
Have fun!
