The fact that she died in an asylum suggests that it is thought her action was somewhat unbalanced?!

How is the "special day" going?
I was on YouTube looking for Betsy Andreu's interviews (found them, and Emma O'Reilly's) and came across this little white-haired old lady who shot Mussolini!
Violet is on YouTube!
A pity they never had YouTube when went to school, I may have paid a bit more attention!
I have been for my paper and today is "haircut" day!
That will keep me occupied for a wee while!
Then the World Championships Cycling is on my TV around lunch time.

My day is going very well, thank you.......
I had a big bunch of flowers awaiting me when I got up!
( I haven't decided what I want as my "main" present yet!)
Our elder daughter and the boys have just rung to wish me a happy birthday (she very kindly sent me an M&S gift card) and we are meeting our other daughter and her two lads for lunch at the Toby Carvery in an hour's time.
It is all go!
Now when you say "haircut" day........is this a mirror and scissors DIY job?
Or are you going to the barbers?
I hope you enjoy the cycling!
We should be home by mid afternoon.........daughter and family are coming back here with us.........

It was a DIY haircut.
Finished now and hair washed and feel very "airy" about my head.
I did "try" two barbers the other day, but they could not even manage a "hello" never mind a "I'll be with you shortly", so I left.
I much prefer "friendly" places.
I am collecting Miss La Bamba from work later (her car is being serviced today) so I shall get a verdict on my efforts then!
Hope all goes well at the carvery!

Did you see the Canadian team pursuit team crash, rusty? It looked like the last overtaking New Zealander clipped the front wheel of the leading Canadian as he pulled in. What will the result be? It used to be the case then when one pursuit rider/team was overtaken by the other, the race was over - is this still the case?

Chris, they still need to finish to record a time to decide their position in the next round.
If the Kiwis sat up there would not be a time (or a very slow one) recorded.

We have all had a great day!
The Carvery meal - choices of roast beef, gammon , turkey and pork, plus varieties of potatoes, and several other vegetables - was delicious.
Our vegetarian daughter had a veggie option plus the "trimmings".
Even YB ate with gusto! (he does well for thirteen months!)
I hope Miss L-B gives her seal of approval to your (self -styled) haircut?
But what happened to the very nice lady hairdresser that you had last time?
You said that you liked her and that she cut your hair well?
You didn't want to go back there?
However, I am sure that you look very smart!!
The family has just headed for home as YB is getting very tired.......

Oh nearly forgot...I had a surprise birthday cake with candles!
