Thank you, Jazzgirl!
I have it recorded on my Skybox.
Will watch it over the next few days.
I have quite a few programmes recorded!

Good evening, Elle!
I have an idea that squirrel was often eaten by the travelling people.
I am sure it would be tasty?
I hope your day with your family went well.
Now, I thought (and could be way out!) that O2 Arena was a concert hall?
Is there something on that they are taking her to see?
Now, your final sentence!
The implication being that you only hoover and tidy the place when visitors are coming?
Surely not!

Thanks jazzy!

The "youngs" have gone to a vegeterian cafe in Colne for a jam session. The "olds" are just about to have a relaxing meal - fresh cooked slow roasted beef and leftovers!

Good evening, Rusty!
The family has gone home now.........
Yes, thank you, I have had a lovely "Mothers' Day" - albeit a day early!
It didn't make any difference to me which day my daughter and family came......and she deserves a treat from her husband and the boys tomorrow!
I hope she will enjoy her outing!
The O2 Arena is a massive complex!
The 2012 Summer Olympics and Paralympics were held there.....
The ATP World Tour Tennis Finals were played there......
Yes, there are Concert Halls......plus a cinema complex ...
And many restaurants........
I think the plan will be to take her for a delicious meal!
Remember that there are two small boys involved (aged 5 and just 1!) - there will be limitations on what will be practical to do!
Have you had a good day?
What have you been up to?

Hello, Chris!
Great to hear that all went well!
If your weather was anything like ours here, you could not have had a nicer day for a Wedding!

Hello, Elle!
I did not realise that about O2 Arena.
Let us hope they enjoy the jaunt to the Arena.
I did not do much today.
I painted some railings and that was about it.
And did my crossword before lunchtime, quite early for me.
The Times managed to get "ortho" for"writer" into a clue, again!
I notice the address of The Times Crossword competition has moved to Colchester.
It used to be a London address, Pennington Street, E98 something or other.

Hi, Rusty!
Yes, I did the Jumbo GK and the 15 x 15 early too, before our family arrived.
I winced yet again at "ortho" for "author"!
I always do better with the Saturday puzzle.
I completed all the clues, but there were three I couldn't fully parse........
I haven't yet given up though.
I shall take a look again after "The Voice" finishes.
Tonight is the Semi- Final!
There are many talented artistes....it will be hard to choose........
Does BGT follow in its footsteps?

Hello, Elle!
You did well managing two crosswords.
One is plenty for me.
Often the parse comes to you after you have a break.
One puzzled me.
it was a reference to "Shakespeare's corporal".
it was "Nym" which meant nothing to me, but Anne B had "Nym" under "corporal".
So, that's fine!
BGT is more of a summer show. I think it usually starts in May?

A very good morning to you, Rusty!
It is beautiful here!
And I am having a wonderful day so far.....
All my children (and grandchildren) have already been on the phone to me this morning, wishing me a Happy Mothers' Day!
It is great!
I have done nothing but "talk"!
In a while we shall go down to the Crematorium .
Have you been to the cemetery this morning?
I couldn't parse that clue with the answer "synonym", either!
I still cannot see it?
Do you have anything nice planned for today?

Hi Elle and Rusty,

Beautiful and already warm here too.

Re synonym _ if nym has something to do with Shakespeare,
couldn't the 'syno' part be a supposed homonym?

as in 'reprobate spoken' = sinner , sounds like syno?
