Hello, Elle!
I am slightly surprised the OED is still published in book form.
The present edition was published in 1989, and there have been hundreds of new words since then.
No copies on Amazon.
Your dog appears to be fine, so.
Maybe racking your brains to solve your crossword is tiring you!
I think maybe the frosty days have passed.
It has been a very good Winter!

Hi, Rusty!
Yes, I think that we have had a reasonable Winter.
Our weather here has been very cold but largely dry and fine.
We have some lovely days!
And no snow , thank goodness!
I was discussing this, though, with my cousin yesterday, and she thought the Winter had been terrible.
She described it as mildish and damp!
I wonder what planet she spent her time on?
I like the idea that I might be feeling tired due to over exercising my brain!
(I wonder if I can cash in on that somehow.....?)
Perhaps if I went to bed earlier, and didn't get up at the crack of dawn , it might help?
I certainly never get more than about five hours sleep.
Generally, though , I am fine .
Now, I found several sets of the complete OED on Amazon?
The cheapest was £665.75 plus £2.80 delivery.
Described as "like new" from ardisbooks.
I have yet to watch 15 to 1, so shall do that now..........more brain exercise!!

Good evening, Elle!
I think it has been a good Winter.
We had snow on three days I think, and lots of frost.
Can't complain!
More sleep may be beneficial.
I cannot see any OED on Amazon.
You are way ahead of me!
Well, Cheltenham tomorrow!
I am looking forward to it!

Hi, Rusty!
I have been watching Broadchurch.
It is a serial on ITV.
This is the third series. I think I have mentioned it before?
The first series had the whole nation guessing at who had committed the murder!
It was a very skilful and exciting plot.
They say that even the cast never knew the outcome until near the end!
It was certainly riveting!
The subsequent series have never reached the same peak, but are never-the less good value.
Have you placed any bets for tomorrow's horse racing?
.When does Vroum Vroum Mag race?

Hello, Elle!
I have not heard of the serial.
Yes, I have backed two of Willie Mullins' horses.
Vroum Vroum Mag races at 16.10, I think.
She is second favourite and Paul Townend is her jockey.
Her stable companion, Limini, is favourite, with Ruby aboard.
I hope Mag's stable lass has better trousers for the parade ring tomorrow!
Tattery trousers will not do at Cheltenham!
We have a high wind warning for tomorrow.

Good morning, Elle!
Great day here, but very windy!
Bridge closed to double decked buses.
I am going to watch the morning programme for Cheltenham.
Hope it's good!
No sign of Lassie yet!

Hello, Pigale!
Trust you are well!
There is a new blog up on the Loch website.

A very good morning to you, Rusty!
We have a nice day here, too.
Cooler than yesterday with a fresh breeze.
I am feeling much less tired - in fact, quite full of energy this morning!
It may be something to do with having a more invigorating walk.
It gets the day off to a good start!
Yes, you were mentioned on the car radio this morning!
The announcer was talking about the closure of the Tay Road Bridge due to high winds!
We have horse racing on this afternoon at 1pm, but nothing this morning?
I shall cross my fingers for VVM!

Hello Rusty, Elle et al!

I just had a look at the Loch web site and saw the nice view of said loch and hill around. but what wind! I am looking forward to seeing our two ospreys! it should not be long now.

there is some activity in the nest over my garage door (with camera inside): there are now six eggs laid, but I have yet to see the little bird (usually a blue tit); she must lay her eggs much too early in the morning for me to see her! last year she laid 13 eggs, spread over a week or so, out of which 9 of them hatched - not bad!

Weather gorgeous here after earlier haze - temps around 14C at present.

My old tank of a computer is driving me mad - as soon as I have found a suitable (by which I mean not too expensive) replacement,
this one will be ditched! I am looking for Windows 10 but second hand if possible - not easy to find since windows 10 is rather recent in computer terms, so I might have to buy new.

are you both OK?

Hello, Elle!
Still high winds here!
Think there are still restrictions on the bridge.
The "Opening Show" is the racing programme on ITV4 from 9.30 to 11.00.
Tomorrow, Nina and "bump" are the special guests on the show!
I am looking forward to that!
Just heard that Jo Rowsell has announced her retirement.
She was a great cyclist.
Won gold medals aplenty.
I was walking earlier.
Home now for the painter arriving later.
I am hoping Mag runs well.
But no matter, the racing will be great!

Hi, Rusty!
Very calm here, still, with just a gentle breeze at the moment, tho' the forecast says we may get winds later.
Does the bridge closure /restrictions create problems for members of your family getting to work, college etc?
Did you enjoy "The Opening Show"?
I do have a functioning ITV4 now, and would have watched the show tomorrow to see Nina - but as it will be Wednesday , I shall be out meeting my daughter for lunch!
Has your painter arrived yet?
I am still awaiting quotes and plans from our landscape gardener regarding the new fencing, and re-shaping the garden.
David is a lovely guy .......but - unlike your painter! - he moves slowly!
I have my fingers crossed for Mag!

Hello, Pigale!
Yes, fine, thank you,
I was somewhat tired yesterday but am fighting fit today!
I , like you, am having intermittent trouble with my emailing.... the page keeps freezing.... and I have to shut down the computer to "fix" it!
altho it only does so temporarily.
I need my daughter to look at it!
Yes, the new website is very informative and nicely set out, isn't it?
Roll on Lassie's arrival!
