Hello, Elle!
Yes, I am happy with today's work.
The cupboard and associated woodwork will be stained or painted.
I'll probably let painter decide which, or certainly take his opinion into consideration.
I have not looked at my crossword today.
Too busy!
My son was here for a good while and that was fine.
It is quite mild this evening.

Hey, Rusty!
My goodness, time has run away with me.......I had no idea it was so late!
I have been engrossed in my book!
Possibly by now you will have gone to bed?
It is warmish here, too - I have just been out in the garden with the dog......very pleasant out........ we have a bright moon overhead.......
Tomorrow is virtually upon me.....
T think at the moment that I have a "free" day.
I am glad that you and your son had a good natter!

Good afternoon, Elle!
It is coldish but dry here.
Yes, had a great visit from my son.
He is very dependable.
I have just sat down.
Been fairly busy today, driving about etc.
How's your day going?

Hi, Rusty!
Yes, you are late appearing on the scene!
I hope your morning's excursions have proved profitable?
My day has been up and down.......the computer has been playing up - the screen keeps "freezing" and I have to shut down the computer and start again.....I need my daughter to take a look at it.
(If I subsequently "disappear".......you will know why!)
On the plus side, I may have found myself a "Get out of Jail Free" card!
I have discovered a letter from the HMRC saying that as they themselves had requested the supposedly "late" S/A tax returns , they would be considering the required date of submission as the date on which they received them (that is, October 12th 2106)
This is the only written reference I have admitting this fact.
My husband had filed it away elsewhere from all my relevant documents!
I am now hoping that this will be sufficient "evidence" to call a halt to all this brouhaha!
We shall see............

Hello, Elle!
You see, I told you Hector was a nice lad!
That's good you have the "in the clear" letter.
Keep hold of it, and any reference number.
Best keep your husband away from your filing system!
I have never had a "real" computer so I cannot offer advice.
Could it need a good clean out of old files etc?
Maybe it is a bit overloaded?
I have been doing odd jobs here and there.
Mainly driving from store to store.
I have to catch the painter but his 'phone is off, so maybe have better luck later.
It is chilly here now.

Hi, Rusty!
Aw, come on.......Hector is a mean, abusive bully!
You should read the nature of some of these "threatening" letters we have been receiving!
And I bet the poor guy who virtually admitted this in his letter to my husband will "cop some flak"!
I can almost feel sorry for him!
Yes, I have made photocopies and will not let the original out of my sight!!
But I awaiting replies from the Appeals and the Complaints Departments at present, so will not muddy the waters until I see what response I get.
I shall bring up "Big Bertha", in the form of the incriminating letter, later if necessary......
I hope you catch your painter and manage to arrange a date for him to come.

Hi rusty
You've probably noticed this - your favourite, Peter Sagan, is riding in the Tirreno-Adriatico rather than the Paris-Nice at the moment.

ChrisE, just saw your comment on Peer Review -
I lived on Alderney for two years and we too called the tourists
'grockles' - Nice to see them on the Island from March onwards, but so pleased to see them go in October when we had the island back to ourselves !!!

Yes, Barnstaple (where I grew up) was a traffic jam all summer. There are bypasses now - too late for me to benefit.

Hello, Elle!
Oh dear. Not so good if you are getting threatening letters from Hector.
I made very good progress by telephoning them.
Let us hope you resolve the matter satisfactorily.
The painter 'phoned but his mobile was very low on charge and he will call me tomorrow to arrange things.
Now, must dash as I have to meet a train at the station.
Been hectic the last couple of days!
